I never thought Bill was homosexual, though. Did ND confirm that?

Replay the game? It's really clear the second time around. He comments on the shirt his "partner" had when he hung himself saying how he had good taste or something along those lines.

"Once upon a time, I had somebody I cared about."

Not to mention the note he reads from him and then tosses it away (subtle shit like that).
"Fuck you too.. :'("

And ..yknow.. the gay magazines?

"It is implied that Bill is gay, and he mentions his former partner Frank. He says that although he once cared about him, he decided it would be best to go it alone, fearing for his life. Bill is saddened when they later find Frank's body."

Play it again and pay closer attention, you can't miss it :D

Out of interest, did you spot that Joel had turned to drink and at one point attempted suicide?

What a script.

WTF when? how?

In the opening scene when Tess asks him if he wants a drink you can hear conflict in the way he says 'no' as if he's annoyed she'd even suggest he had one. He used to drink but now he doesn't is how I saw that because there is absolutely no other reason to act it that way. Then later on when Ellie and Joel are talking and Ellie suggests suicide is the easy way out, Joel says 'it aint easy, trust me'. The script was filled with little moments like this, like when Tess says 'I get it' after they finally escape the military at the start of the game. They could have made that so obvious she was referring to Joel being reminded of his daughter, but instead they chose just those three little words and a look.

No, but obviously they felt something greater than mere friendship. She could be bisexual for all we know. Or hell, my view is that she didn't seem to have anyone else in her life and Riley did so much for her that she felt really grateful for. Riley on the other hand, threw away her firefly pendant and claimed she didnt know why she came back and risked her life just to hang with Ellie in the mall and do what she did for her. I think Riley, being the older, absolutely had some feelings for Ellie and Ellie felt something too although how strong they are are still not exactly clear.

One interesting train of thought is Spring. This DLC shows that Ellie, by saving Joel, reflects back upon losing Riley. So by the time of Spring when Ellie is all silent and emotional... could it be because she is thinking of Riley? She even mentions Riley towards the end of the main game in Spring. Infact it all adds up to me.

Not going to lie, I thought you were, you know, one of those pervs, but clearly, you know your stuff, certainly about the game and its characters.

Being post apocalyptic, none of us know how characters interact with each other in the future. There is a good chance that with limited human to human contact, and fact that being in these camps means that you will know very few people for a very long period of time, same sex relationships and even relationships developing at a VERY early age very well could be the norm.

Having played more, I am inclined to agree that there is something more. Ellie's kiss seems like a ''Im going to miss you'' kind of kisses. I'm still not convinced that they are in love, but at the very least, Ellie does seem to have strong feelings for Riley.

But hey, the is brave stuff from ND. Bill was an interesting character, probably the least gay, gay video game character ever. It the beginning of the game I even though Joel was a gay father because Sarah's room had pictures of her father and another man...

If you win the throw a brick at a car challenge and ask Riley about "Why you left without saying anything". Riley will say she didnt tell anyone that she was leaving. Then Ellie will reply: But I wasn't just anyone. They liked each other and I think thats super cute :D. Don't think that means Ellie doesnt like boys or anything. She did comment on Winston earlier saying he's handsome haha.

I knew it. Called it from the very beginning. I knew there was more to their relationship.

Also, just finished and it was awesome.

I hate when people have to make everything sexual. There's something to be said for plain old friendship I say.

Why is homosexuality automatically 'sexual'. I think that says more about your views than those that recognise the obvious. The love between the two girls went well beyond the love two friends feel for each other. Did you not pick up on the awkwardness in the photo booth? Didn't you listen carefully to how Riley spoke of their relationship: "Can you remember when I first brought you here" or "At least let me walk you home." These are clearly cues to demonstrate that Riley saw their excersions as a date. Ellie didn't understand the feeling she had though and Riley didn't want to push her either. That kiss was beautiful and there was nothing sexual about it whatsoever. Naughty Dog clearly wanted to forshadow scenes from the full game. "You don't know what loss it," joel said at one point. yes she did but we didn't find out the type of love until this DLC. Ellie WAS stronger than Joel and this proved it.
