Err this game is free -_-

and yet it makes more than just about every other video game. Quite a business model.

Every other video game? That would be really hard to prove.

it only really has GTA V as contender

lets say it made 1.200 mil in 2013

gta v sold29milx60= 1.740mil

+ the months in 2012 and it will make more in 2014,2015

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Look at dem sales charts? The revenue that the game brings in would be put in the top 10 sales every week.

Thats revenue...not profit. Platform holders get a sizeable % from that revenue. Apple, Facebook and Google all take their share.

Secondly, most mobile game franchises have a very limited lifespan. In 1 or 2 years time people would have moved on from Candy Crush and their publisher might have the same fate as Zynga who are struggling at the moment.

And without exact numbers and hard evidence it will be really hard to prove that it makes more that every other video game out at the moment. I would imagine that Riot games gets a decent amount of profit for LoL as well...considering that they dont have to pay a % of their revenue to platform holders.

In any case it wasnt my intent to start a debate about which game brings in the most profit with my initial post. Kirby claimed that Candy Crush was bigger than Zelda and Uncharted...using sales numbers to determine this. I was merely pointing out that Candy Crush is free...competely free. While Uncharted and Zelda retail for 40 - 60$. Thats a major contributor to why the game has those huge numbers.

Wii sports has 81.79m so what?

@jazz

lets for fun say that

we value wii sports at 60 bucks that amounts to 5.000 million over 7 years

candy crush can do it in 4 years with the current pace

looks like simple mobile games are where it's at now. I tried Candy crush...just couldn't get into it.

You clearly missed my posts earlier in this thread!

Nope i havent missed your posts. I'm not arguing that Candy Crush makes less money than Uncharted or Zelda. I was simply giving a reason as to why Candy Crush has those insane numbers. Thats all. This is what Kirby meant by "Bigger IP" he wasnt really talking bout revenue or profits etc.

That is true, I started of with purely the number of users. But to strenghten the argument i added revenue in the discussion
