Interesting that PS4 buyers bought more NBA2K14 and FIFA ACIV, while XBO sold more COD, BF4 (shooters) but also Lego, Just Dance, Skylanders.
XBO getting more family/younger sales there and holding on to the shooter crowd as well. That's a good sign for MS. They need to get in with the youngsters/families to keep word of mouth building and to get the media services in as many homes as possible.
Keep in mind the domestic install base is still PS4 > XBO total, so theoretically they should move more software, but XBO has more third-party wins that PS4, despite selling reportedly more of the exclusives as well.
I still think Sony's issue is that PS+ actually hurts them in software as people are less likely to buy that 2nd or 3rd game when they are getting multiple free titles each month. I know I bought less PS3 software than 360 titles partially due to that reason. I already had stuff to play on there. Great for getting people to adopt the hardware, but it seems like it lessens software sales where they really make their money long-term.
