Is it me or were these games ridicolously fun? It should be no surprise since they were made before Capcom got their heads stuck in their ass.

Then they just suddenly stop making them to make room for starforce. Which I'll admit is ok but its no BN and they kinda ruined the combat system.

Which out of the 6 were your favorite(s). I'd have to pick 3 (for being the most content heavy) and 6 (for the beast out).

Now if they'd only make BN7. I'd swim acrossing the fckin pacific just to look at the box art. o.o

My favorite Battle Network game is 4 played the hell out of it when I was a kid beat it like 3 fricken times.

They didnt suddenly stop making BN. The series ended. BN and Zero are the only Megaman series that have successfully concluded. Inafune has said many times that outside Classic he only intends for each series to last no more than 5 games.

I own all but only completed up to 4 as I lost interest at the Dark Chip stuff. Original is my favorite and It is the only one I go back to play.

Yeah 6 nicely ended the series. I thought they killed off the sucessor a little prematurly though.

I would play a BN with grown up Lan... >.

At the end of 6 Lan ended up esscentially quitting being a netbattler and became a scientist working for his father. I think Megaman ended up being given to his child.

I just really loved the gameplay mechanics. Starforce would have been a lot better if they didn't screw with it...

I liked these games. I never played 5 or 6, though I wouldn't mind giving them a spin.

In particular, the action-RPG battle system was really well designed. The story was passable, which is all you really need.

A while back, I got my hands on the first Star Force game for five bucks. Holy shit, I couldn't believe how awful it was. The battle system was an actual downgrade from the GBA titles. The level design was lousy. Visually the series was unchanged from the GBA titles, and the writing was actually worse as well.

The Battle Network games already seemed to be very small projects, improving only incrementally over previous installments. The series was handled lazily by Capcom. Yet somehow, they outdid themselves with Star Force, apparently putting less than no effort into the spinoff/sequel. I understand that sales were probably declining, but Capcom had no one to blame but themselves for that. If they wanted stronger sales, they should have made better games.

I really want to see what this series could have become. Battle Network's mechanics should have been expanded with the switch to the DS, but instead its depth was diminished to nothing. Such a shame.

I recommend 5 and 6 although the best was probably 3.

Capcom should remake some of these games with 3d models and online support.

Megaman Battle Network 3 FTW.

The fights against Serenade and Bass, Omega versions, almost made me destroy my GBA in complete frustration, especially Bass. That damn Aura man.....
