Forums - Nintendo - Wii Bingo! Nothing has changed...

Wii Bingo (compliments of Sean Malstrom) is now over a year old and is as popular as ever. Here is my own feeble attempt. Feel free to add your own...

Whilst only Nintendo games sell on Nintendo machines it is apparent that non-games sell even better on the gimmicky Wii. All indications point to it being a fad. Remember, Gamecube started well at first but faltered. The same thing is happening with the Wii evidenced by the lack of third party support.

It is coming too late but some people are starting to wise up to the way Nintendo milks profits with the inferior Wii hardware, the technological equivalent of two Gamecubes taped together. One has to wonder what will happen when people get tired of Wii Sports. The party won't last forever, and unfortunately, the Wii is nothing more than a party machine.

Nintendo has abandoned the hardcore gamer. Look at the horrible sales in Japan of a hardcore title like No More Heroes compared to the casual title, Super Smash Brothers Brawl. In the end this will hasten the inevitable crash of the video gaming industry. When the day is over and all is said and done Nintendo will have nobody but themselves to blame for the downfall of hardcore video gaming (although they will probably blame Wii Fit).

I can't find RolStoppable's version. That was probably the best.

Thanks! I bookmarked it and included the link in your tag (in the TAG thread).

Yeah, I totally agree! All those fanboys try to deny the truth, but the Wii IS a casual machine. I mean, come on, Zelda and Metroid are such kid games. And sheesh, don't even get me started about Resident Evil. It has been confirmed that the Wii is bought mainly for the weather channel, Carnival Games, and atmospheric lighting. The fact that it sells better than the other consoles shows the downfall of the games industry, which will topple the entire world economy, rendering the G8 helpless and leaving Alaska as the most powerful country in the world. We will all fall prey to a new totalitarian regime which defies the good old days of FPS's, more FPS's, and another FPS on the great consoles of yore. I think I'm gonna cut myself.

Wait... you weren't serious, were you?

I drink your milkshake.

If you look at the Nintendo DS as an example, it wasn't until the end of 2006 (when the DS had a clear sales advantage and started to demonstrate a dramatic advantage in terms of third party support) before everyone accepted the DS as the long term market leader.

When the Wii sells 25 to 35 Million units in 2008, the PS3 and XBox 360 sell between 10 and 15 Million units, and the majority of titles announced for 2009 are on the Wii everyone will be forced to accept the Wii as the dominant console in this generation.

Where is the "Pachter says" part?

You didn't fill in one single square on the Wii Bingo Board.

Oh wait, NM, lol.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Heh. Nice edit. The rant about the PS3 fanboy was very amusing.

You forgot to include "massive sales drop-offs in 2009" and "everybody will return their Wii and get a PS3 or 360". Still, very nice Wii bingo there.
