Well that point isn't exactly fair, since there was almost no chance for an african team to win in SA, there's no comparison possible. In any South American country, any european team will be met not only with fierce opposition from the South American fans, but also with teams that are equal in potential, which tips the scales towards those countries.

Well, I hope they will in 2018, I prefer Brazil on that, but I believe it's not an unbiased opinion :)

About Argentina, they have some great talents available, but they were plagued by bad managers and some lack of players in key positions. Messi on Barcelona has a team that plays based on short passes and that fits his playstyle. It's time for Argentina to apply that kind of game to their team and allow Messi to play at full potential.
