The most likely way a console would enter the Chinese market is if it was manufactured by up and coming Chinese Entertainment/tech company. |
Partly true. Most people don't really care about the history too much, not more than anybody else. It's horrible, but the French still don't hate the Germans for WW2. Well some maybe, and it's the same here. Probably a minority and mostly older people still dwell in the dark past.
Yes jRPG's are not exactly the same as cRPG's, that's true. But still I suppose people would favor them over Gears of War, Resistance, Killzone or Halo. But also Chinese people do like a lot of different type of games. Korean FPS are very popular here, CS-style FPS. So perhaps the games I mentioned above could "grown" on people here, and they would get more accustom to playing a slower pace FPS with a controller and aim-assistance.
The last part is very true. To partner up with a Chinese company or to create new console from China would be the best way. It would know the Chinese market better and have a chance to be more successful than just Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo releasing their console here.

Maybe I don't know. But I have heard of it at least, but never seen it in any game shop. Also, why would I buy an iQue system rather than a Wii or WiiU? Makes no sense. I call that a bad move by Nintendo. They thought they were clever, but really failed with the idea. They just released the same sytem but with a different name and appearance. If not I guess that is clue enough that the iQue here is not popular at all. I'd give you a honest guess and say that 99% that has Nintendo proucts in China don't have the iQue, they have the original system.
EDIT
Sorry, I sounded really negative there. I thought it was great that Nintendo tried something. It's good that they have the courage to try and a shame that they choosed the wrong strategy. :(
