@DmeisterJ: Let's say until the end of March. Sounds fair since that will be before Nintendo does their next fiscal report.
@___O_o______: Great, I'll put it in my sig ;)

That's the spirit!
See you next February. ;P

Technically Bruce is right about one thing. SSBM will *NOT* be the biggest game in 2008. The biggest game in 2008 will be a casual game. We all know it, even the PS360 fanboys that don't want to admit it. It will be the same biggest game as 2007. It's called Wii Sports.
Torturing the numbers. Hear them scream.

For those who think that Brawl will be too "hard core" for casual gamers.
Melee was the favorite game of my son -- he started playing it when he was 4 (he's 5-1/2 now).
If someone that age can have fun at it ... it is good for the casual crowd.

PS -- I didn't realize it was T-rated when I let him play. And once I did, it was too late to go back.
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

You could be correct that an unconventional game may end up being the best selling game of the year. All we have to do is look at how Wii Fit has performed in Japan; after 11 weeks it is still selling at (roughly) 75,000 units per week, and if it continues like Wii Sports or the Brain Training games it may have sales above 15,000 units for the rest of the year.

And... you're a hardcore gamer, right? So your reason doesn't count. Only the mini-game waggle-fest party-casual gamers count when it comes to the Wii. Right? |
I'm not really sure how I triggered that response from you and I'm not even sure how where the hell you're coming from. I mean, I found it funny that the OT's link is actually saying that SSBB 'wont be a big game for 2008' (as the title implies) and I complimented how good SSBB is by my excitement to play it like I did the original and Melee before it despite the fact that I don't own the console.
I don't think I can make that sound anymore like praise for SSBB unless I made a trolling Wii post. Whatever because according to you, my interest in SSBB doesn't count. lol, what's all that crap about 'mini-game waggle-fest' for? Should I just say the Wii sucks to make you feel better even though that's not how I feel?
Yeah most bloggers never know what they're talking about, they blogged during the past 2 generations where it was Sony or nothing and now they don't know what to make of the gaming scene this generation, it doesn't compute well to them.
I dunno if he's even checked the reserves but over a million reserves I highly doubt it won't be one of the biggest games by the end of the year.
And as far as the system sales, they should pick up in the coming month or so, they're projecting higher sales this year then last which being way low is the reason for the supply shortages so if they produce it people will come, 45 million could be pretty easy.

Bruce is bias against the Wii. And every time someone points out the numerous obvious flaws in his theories, he calls them fanboys.
His "industry professional" friends must enjoy seeing his constantly flawed blogs, because they apparently have not showed him the error of his views. Heh.
I'll find it amuzing to see how many times he'll get banned from VGChartz before he gets the idea he should not try to plug his blog on here constantly.
