Forums - Sales - GT5 to hit 11M soon

According to http://www.polyphony.co.jp/english/list.html in March 2013 it shipped 10.66M (shy 340k of shipping 11M) so it possibly have already shipped 11.2-11.5M

VGC have it at 10.85M needing 150k more sales. Probably will do it before middle year... 11.5M a possibility in FY 14.

Probably already is, Vg seems to often undertrack GT titles.

I have to admit, I originally thought GT5 would never get past 9 million, good to see it still going strong though.

You aren't alone, a lot of people tought it would struggle to hit 5M and certainly would hit 7M.

For a min there, I thought the title said GTA5 to hit 11 mil XD.

Dayum sons, I knew I should of bought GT5 XL when I had the chance ;(.

Now I gotta wait to buy GT6 T__T.

Buy XL for cheap and them buy GT6 (it is a lot smaller than GT5 not that many endurance and grinding of before). Lot easier to plat.

That is impressive seeing that it is quite easly argued the worst GT to date.

However, it is no surprise as the PS3 has no competition for simulation driving. It was either GT....or GT.

I was among the "won't ever reach 10 million" crowd, kind of glad to be wrong about this one.

I really liked GT5, just hated my lack of skills being unable to beat Vettel Challenge on Gold.

Its GT or go PC (or Xbox if the person like the other 1st parties)... but for me and a lot others GT is imcomparable, in sales and quality.

I find that odd as GT5 had:

-worst graphics (compared to the other GT at their time of release). WHen the other GTs came out, they had the best on the console as they were nothing shy of madly impressive. GT5 however? It looked like it was ported from the PS2...badly.
-almost broken loading times

-least amount of tracks

-worst 2nd car buying system to the point it made some challeneges impossible

-least number of races

-made licenses pointless

-no tyre or fuel consumption outside of endurance

-worst prize system (who the hell wants some 74 chevy? How will that help?)

-Rallys had been removed bar 3 random races

-so many bugs on launch.

I felt like you did with GT - perfect franchise that was all about quality and experience. However I found GT5 to be so bad, I'm not actually going to buy another one until I've played it at someone elses first (and I've had them since GT2).

Excellent! It has has continued to sell well and the bundles really helped it.
I wonder if Reach has reached 10 million by now, and if Halo 3 reached 12 million...
Halo 4 would have definitely hit 9 million by now.
