Throw caution to the wind and take the chance. At the end of the day, if it doesn't work out, you'll feel horrible for abandoning your friends. But if you go on the trip with your friends and miss this chance you'll likely regret it for the rest of your life.

Just don't make blowing off your friends a habit, bros before hoes and all that.

If your friends are truly mates, they will understand. Ditching friends for something else is never the solution, but as long as they can understand and forgive you, there's not much harm done. Try explaining the situation to them, though.

B) I would advise against going to meet people you only know from the Internet. But alas, I did exactly the same thing and I had the time of my life. So go and enjoy :)

EDIT: Have extra caution, though. You never know what you're going to face until you're there.

That's what i have been feeling, if i don't take the chance, then i might miss out on something great, but if it fails, then it was a mistake worth taking. Plus i'll still be in america, so i'll just get drunk and find someone else there hahaha

1) We need pictures to... properly asses the situation.
2) Yeah, you did the wrong thing anyway.

I really don't think it's wise to give out her picture, but i'll say something, she looks like taylor swift.

Have you actually talked to her on Skype or anything? Or have you just seen pictures and chatted.

I think that waiting for a whole year and travelling from Australia to the US to meet some girl you met online is fucking nuts. I see that you're 19 and young people do stupid stuff sometimes, but I'd go for my friends...

Just my honest opinion!

Hmmm... no.

But at least I'm less concerned you're gonna get scammed or assraped by a fat, hairy biker.

I'm going to america, so chances are, i still will regardless :p

Anyways. Being young make's my decision harder, as i'm still young enough to make mistakes, then again, going to america and seeing her defeats everything i stand for "as i'm a realist", it's like choosing fantasy over reality

That's the spirit. Make a backup plan in case it goes sour, so at the very least you have a vacation in the US. And keep in touch with friends/family while you are over there, particularly around the time(s) you meet up.

I definitely recommend watching the documentary film Catfish, if you haven't already.
