Forums - Sony - My Ni No Kuni playthrough review: Who else didn't enjoy it?

Heh, almost forgot WKC was developed by Level-5. What were your thoughts on the first WKC? I never gave the sequel a try since I didn't enjoy the first one; I also dropped it after 10 hours. Level-5 should give SRPGs another try since Jeanne D'Arc was one of their greatest games, even if they played it safe.

I never played the first since the second one includes the first game, I waited until the second game released then got it when it hit $20.

The second one makes some changes that benefit the game apparently.  When attacking an enemies weak point it shows up in gold, and on the first one when you attacked an enemy, the ATB didn't start to recharge until after the attack was completed while the second one it rrestarts as soon as the attack begins to take place.  I can't say if I would have or haven't liked it without the changes in place though.

I like the game a lot. over 50 hours of content. made me shed manly tears at certain parts. I want a Ni No Kuni 2.

Your review has spoilers.

This, like honnestly, put a warning in the title to not screw up the experience for other users who didn't experience the game yet. Good thing I stopped reading after the first line of your review of the story in Nino Kuni. Why can't users respect other people who haven't played the game their talking about when creating threads like this. I mean, honnestly, it really frustrates me.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

If you're talking about the mom thing, it happens within the first twenty minutes of the game. That's why I didn't think it was a spoiler. I'll add a warning when I get back on my computer. Metacritic also mentions this event in the game's summary.

Basically, today's gamers dont have the attention span to sit through a jrpg anymore.

Someone earlier in the thread claimed he got bored of watching it, people expect to be entertained by watching a playthrough of a oldskool long ass jrpg, what's the world coming to...

I generally liked it and got in about 16hrs and just couldn't finish it. I liked the story and visuals were good. Gameplay was great too. I guess the bad pace just couldn't keep me playing it.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

disagree with everything you said, played the game for 70+ hours and got the platinum.

You made the mistake calling this a review. It is more like a first impression.

CPU: Ryzen 9950X3D
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5 PRO

The Game has a very good atmosphere, captivating environments, great graphics and a nice story. However, I ultimately stopped playing when I got 3 party members because the horrible battle system got unbearable not to mention the constant grinding of familiars. It just got old. Sadly gameplay ultimately makes the game.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Pretty graphics and charming atmosphere...., but characters and story were boring and underdeveloped (the 2 characters beside oliver that you can control were absolutely pointless at every level, and secondary characters didn't improved the story neither), and battle system was not fun at all. I expected a lot more from this game..., too childish for my tastes...., if at least it was fun but that was another disappointment. Very basic and repetitive gaming design, with sidequests that were very boring and tedious too.

I can't understand the praise this game received from a lot of sites. JRPG were critizised for years for becoming too predictiful, stuck in the past, repetitive,.... and suddenly Ni No Kuni was praised for doing the old same again. It's not a bad game, but it's very far to be considered a classic.

For me, a 7 out of 10, and i'm being generous....

I only played the demo and thought it was awesome. The presentation seemed flawless to me, and I had fun with the battle system.

But again, I only played the demo. I'm somewhat afraid of not liking it when I buy it.

you can buy it for 9€ right now on PSN if you have PS+ I think its worth that
