When I meet people in life that are successful they're happy, when I meet people that are unsuccessful they are unhappy. Everyone who dislikes FFXIII that I've ever spoke too is unsuccessful at it. You didn't understand the game, next time buy the strategy guide it's a very nice tool.
If you want to have Vanille cast a heal spell you choose Medic in the CUSTOMIZE PARADIGM MENU option. If you want Snow to cast Blizzara you use CP to unlock the skill in Snows Sphere Grid, and then choose Ravenger. Lightning to cast Lightning spell? She doesn't have the spell Lightning, but she does have Thunder, Sparkstrike, Thundera, Blizzara and Thundaga. Sorry no Lightning spell specifically and you say you played this game lolz!, and you also say you didn't? Double lolz! Your trolling now saying you can competently judge this game yet you don't even know Lightning doesn't have a spell named "lightning" nice try it's Thunder you were looking for haha good one. In any case you would also be looking for Ravenger for her.
Example paradigm this is where you create them.
Ok now you would have, if Vanille is the Party leader a Medic-Ravenger-Ravenger paradigm. It has a name and you don't know it. Got it? It's named Thaumaturgy, maybe if you played the game you could remember these details, but you in all likelyhood tried it for a short while and decided it was too advanced for you and began parroting all the other people who have problems playing it successfully. Now if the enemy you fight is weak to both Ice based attacks and Lightning based attacks they will generally use those attacks if that is an effective option. If the mobs you are fighting are strong towards those spells and have a 1/2 damage taken from them stat. Then no matter how much you wish it to do something ignorantly ineffective it won't. lulz. The attack paradigm will be smarter than you and instruct Snow and Lightning to cast the appropriate elemental attack or if the mobs in fact take 2X damage from Physical attacks it will obviously do the intelligent attack strategy for Snow and Lightning. :P SO you don't die in one hit heehee! And if Vanille is your leader you can freely choose any command for her to use, but you're correct in that you can't choose exactly each and every command every time, you have to use paradigms that enable those attacks you wish o employ, and choose your leader wisely like I said long ago in this thread. You might want to just go back to the ol FF's where you can just spam Attack-Attack-Attack-Attack and run back to the INN you silly guy. Which FFXIII doesn't have an INN for you to run back to (tear), and I bet you missed it dearly lmao! You're suited to oldschool weak sauce FF's obviously.
