yes but you are still not picking actual ACTIONS, you can switch all you want but you are still leaving the actual actions to the AI. You are still essentially using one character at a time. I played the game and I know all that. Now you had fun with it and thats great it truly is. I didnt, its really that simple the system to me was kinda meh. and no amount of description of what YOU did in the game is going to change that.

The AI doesn't create all the paradigms, you do.  If you can't figure that out then you go nowhere in the game. Exactly like your point on this subject.  You played the game like you said, you never finished the game like I predicted.

the AI does the ACTIONS, thats what you're not getting i did figure it out, i beat the game. ANd even if I didnt why would that matter? You ever finished a game you werent having fun with? doubt it. I cant tell Vanille to cast a heal spell, Snow to cast Blizzara and Ligthing to cast a Lighting spell  when i want how I want can I? Nope thats not how the system works and if you're cool with that thats fine. Im not

When I meet people in life that are successful they're happy, when I meet people that are unsuccessful they are unhappy. Everyone who dislikes FFXIII that I've ever spoke too is unsuccessful at it. You didn't understand the game, next time buy the strategy guide it's a very nice tool.

If you want to have Vanille cast a heal spell you choose Medic in the CUSTOMIZE PARADIGM MENU option. If you want Snow to cast Blizzara you use CP to unlock the skill in Snows Sphere Grid, and then choose Ravenger. Lightning to cast Lightning spell? She doesn't have the spell Lightning, but she does have Thunder, Sparkstrike, Thundera, Blizzara and Thundaga. Sorry no Lightning spell specifically and you say you played this game lolz!, and you also say you didn't? Double lolz! Your trolling now saying you can competently judge this game yet you don't even know Lightning doesn't have a spell named "lightning" nice try it's Thunder you were looking for haha good one. In any case you would also be looking for Ravenger for her.

Example paradigm this is where you create them.

Ok now you would have, if Vanille is the Party leader a Medic-Ravenger-Ravenger paradigm. It has a name and you don't know it. Got it? It's named Thaumaturgy, maybe if you played the game you could remember these details, but you in all likelyhood tried it for a short while and decided it was too advanced for you and began parroting all the other people who have problems playing it successfully.  Now if the enemy you fight is weak to both Ice based attacks and Lightning based attacks they will generally use those attacks if that is an effective option. If the mobs you are fighting are strong towards those spells and have a 1/2 damage taken from them stat. Then no matter how much you wish it to do something ignorantly ineffective it won't. lulz. The attack paradigm will be smarter than you and instruct Snow and Lightning to cast the appropriate elemental attack or if the mobs in fact take 2X damage from Physical attacks it will obviously do the intelligent attack strategy for Snow and Lightning. :P SO you don't die in one hit heehee! And if Vanille is your leader you can freely choose any command for her to use, but you're correct in that you can't choose exactly each and every command every time, you have to use paradigms that enable those attacks you wish o employ, and choose your leader wisely like I said long ago in this thread. You might want to just go back to the ol FF's where you can just spam Attack-Attack-Attack-Attack and run back to the INN you silly guy. Which FFXIII doesn't have an INN for you to run back to (tear), and I bet you missed it dearly lmao! You're suited to oldschool weak sauce FF's obviously.

You're wrong.  Your theory is innaccurate.  Why?  I hate FFXIII, and I felt VII was overrated as hell.  I mean, I enjoyed it, but it's not even my favorite Final Fantasy game.  that honor goes to VI.  As I look back, I'm starting to think the only reason I loved VII was Nostalgia; it was the first game I played and beat on the PS1.

Now, it's just dated, the plot is silly, and the characters are cliche stereotypes.

I feel this way and still feel that XIII is quite possibly the crowning achievement in "shittiest game compared to budget and expectations ever."  and I mean that.  The very fact that the game had a budget reportedly just under 100 million dollars and its biggest functional flaw was something as simple as "your leader dies, it's game over" is just laughably terrible.  An unpaid intern could have fixed that, yet they decided to keep it in the game?  That's a combination of hilarious ineptitude, gross negligence, and disappointingly ill-concieved design.

or maybe I'm just looking to find more ways to bash that game.

There also exists FF6 hipsters...look guys there's one in the wild now.  He claims FFXIII is the "shittiest game compared to budget and expectations ever." Wow I'll leave it at that.  But I really wonder what you didn't like about it? Perhaps it didn't have the Attack-Attack-Attack-Attack run back to the Inn option. (tear for you too) ;)

So let me get this straight:  Anyone who likes another FF other than XIII most has some sort of disparging title?  Mainstream junkies for people who liked VII, Hipsters for VI?  tell me, give a disparging title for each and every FF before XIII, I want to see if you can think it up.  This could be fun.

Oh, and given your quick insistence on labelling me and anyone else who loved VI as 'hipsters', you can officially be ignored in the future, as you have nothing of value to say.

Did you even read WHY I felt XIII was the most disappointing game ever, when compared to budget?

All of this is just sad... will we ever get a FF VII remake? or any of the PS classics? that should give SE sometime to reorganize and go back to its roots.

Wait... You really want the current S-E to remake FF VII? Really?

Take your time and think about it.

Here we go. The desperation to prove a bad game good by calling every other game crap.

No old FF's werent auto attack 95% of the time. There was alot of attacking, but there was alot of using magic, using skills, using limit breaks, using items. Old FF games make you think and strategise while you play. FFXIII urges you to use one button. Its not the same at all.

You keep saying auto-attack 95% of the time.

"Old FF games make you think and strategise while you play" - FFXIII doesnt? Are you sure you played the game? I'm honestly thinking you are just hating for the sake of hating. There is no way you could passed over several of the locations in FFXIII if you just blindly auto attacked.

I dont see how FFIV, FFVII, FFIX, and FFX are any different from FFXIII when it comes to "Strategies". You use attack/fight, use magic, use items and use limit breaks......uuhh that sounds like FFXIII too. Were you doing something other than "Attack, Magic, Item, etc" in old FF game battles that other people werent doing?

Its like your comparing FFXIII to Persona or Shin Megami Tensei rather than the older FF games lol.

Square sped up the battle system so that strategy lied with timing and paradigm shifts. Knowing which classes to use and when to use them is the most important part of the gameplay. Far more so than cycling through the menu.

I really hope it is not as bad as he puts. I actually have intentions of finishing XIII-2 and then hope on this one. I'll have to wait and see for this one.

aw, give em a few strikes before giving up totally.  Many people said the same thing after VIII, IX, X, and XII, yet sales indicate that the popularity of the series has remained pretty consistent

The reason people make these posts is so the FFXIII series does not oversell their precious FF7 series. Don't be fooled by them. FFX-X2 series already outsold it anyways.

The internet hipster trend is to claim that FFVII is the best series.

Another internet trend is to say the FFXIII series is bad. Like the OP of this thread has done.

FFVII sold 9.72m & FFVII CC sold 3.10m = 12.82m total for the FFVII series.

FFXIII sold 5.09+2.03=7.12m for the ps360, FFXIII-2 sold 2.49+.69=3.18m for the ps360. 7.12m+3.18m=10.30m + Japans numbers for LR .41m+.01m currently = 10.72m for the FFXIII series total so far. We still need to see what the release on PS360 in USA+UK numbers reach, and this site lists it availble on XB1? I wonder if that is true or not? Anyhow...Recap.

FFVII series = 12.82m sales, and FFXIII series = 10.72m If the game Lightning Returns FFXIII can average just 1m combined on PS360 in USA and 1m combined in UK for ps360 platforms it will be a more successful series than peoples precious FF7 series. Interesting!

I can't wait to make that thread or let someone else make it. It's gonna happen folks :) the people on the internet who complain about FFXIII are very wrong about RPG's. We FFXIII series fans will soon have the numbers on our side, deal with it. FFX-X2 has sold a combined  13.34m and will have a re-release. These 2 series FF13 and FF10 will soon be the undeniable real fan favorites, and all the FF7 hipsters can't handle the truth. Maybe we'll get a FF7 re-release someday and the hipsters can prove us FFX and FFXIII fans wrong too, or maybe SS knows FF7 isn't good enough to remake. Have a nice day. Share your thoughts. :)

well this is one of the more silly things i read online. Nobody cares about which FF sells better than what. thats first of all and second of all you are still wrong.

What about the FF7 cell phone game? WHat about Dirge of Cerebus if you're going to make silly comparisons like this at least use all the info. You didnt even account for PC sales of FF7 new and old version or PSN sales, keep in mind that it has been in the top selling PSN classics since it was online years ago. So no FF13 series isnt passing 7
