At some point consoles as we know them now will be history.
In 6, 7 years a PS5?
Maybe, maybe not.
tv's will be able to host games without interference of a console at some point.
The article further states:
"Update: Sony has responded to my question. According to Sony, gamers who own disc or digital-based games will not have access to those games via PS Now free of charge."
''Hadouken!''
US bandwidth capabilities will have to improve quite a bit.
Also, the direct reason we aren't seeing PS4 titles being streamed is because the compute power necessary to do the work both server and client side is just not there. That is why we have a PS4 and not a promise of PS Now PS4 games.
Perhaps this will be true when the PS5 comes out. The PS5, XTWO, Wii#3 may be too advanced to stream to tablets, tvs, etc.
As long as there is demand for gaming consoles, Sony will continue to build and sell them. Simple as that. I don't expect streaming to take over the world over night. It is just a new option, it doesn't make consoles obsolete.
