Puppeteer and The Wonderful 101 are the worst offenders.

I still reckon relative to expectations, Gaist Crusher and Gyrozetter did much worse than either of those.

Possibly not proportional to budget, but Puppeteer always seemed like a download-only title that they bumped up to retail.  Not sure about W101, but at least it has the (dis)advantage of the console it's on over the other two.

Voted for Sonic Lost World but forgot about The Wonderful 101 which is proof why it deserves to be voted :P!

Looking at the sales of this game in a vacuum it's hard to believe I've included this game.  Pushing 2 million copies worldwide with the promise of Gran Turismo-esque legs to come surely means this game didn't bomb right?

Well, sort of.  I feel like I should include it because compared to Gran Turismo 5, the game is massively down in every region despite the PS3's inflated user base now compared to then.  Compared to what Polyphony could have been doing - developing a launch title for the PS4; trying to breath some life into the Vita; it seems a waste to have put this game on PS3 and sales seem to reflect that.

Stuff like UK first week sales being 20% of GT5 just add fuel to the fire:

No its not hard to believe vgc is quite GT ignorant.  The site undertracked GT5 launch numbers by around one million, so take current numbers for little they are worth.  And you dont know its down since you lack full sales numbers, 3rd best seller for PS3 on Euro PSN for dec even with some crazy ass Holiday deals.

Just to hopefully eradacte some of your ignorance about claiming GT6 was a waste, much of the game is build to be transfered to PS4 and easily upgradable. The whole physics engine is done with PS4 in mind they will only be tweaking it.  When Yama said GT7 could be ready for 2014 he was being to honest.

Hard to say. I knew Puppeteer and Wonderful 101 would bomb sales wise, but that doesn't make the sales less disappointing.
Lightning Returns did also as expected, but that's Japan only and with the other regions it should get decent enough sales.
Sonic Lost World did terrible. Considering they only share the same name, I'm not sure if they should even be combined sales wise. The exclusivity contract was a disaster for SEGA so far and I doubt that it's going to change.
GT6 did also well below any expectations. Still enough for a quick cash-in, although on the expenses of the fanbase.
The other Japan only titles have done terrible as well it seems. But I'm not into the handheld or Japanese market that much, so I better don't comment.

My choice would be Sonic Lost World, because it looked great at first and then turned out to be a lot worse.
Also SEGA voluntarily chose to partner with Nintendo instead of going multiplat as usual, which would've added the remaining sales to profitability.

Hey, I thought Gran Turismo 5 was far from the biggest Japanese-developed bomb of the year this year.  7 people who weren't me disagreed, though.  It's them you should be preaching to :P
