Yeah, it kind of is the point.

Regardless, I was just pointing out that they recently lost a patent case, which kind of makes that PR statement amusing.  I'm not nearly as emotionally invested in this as you are and I'm not going to argue with you about whether they really lost or not.

So, If I'm correctly understanding your vision, you're just here to say that Nintendo is copying, even though other valid arguments are on the table.

Talk about emotional investment...

What are you talking about?  Officially, it was just ruled that they knowingly used technology patented by someone else.  Period, end of story, like it or not.  I really, honestly do no care if this upsets or bothers you.  It is a fact.  It is a part of their history even if you wish otherwise.

Was it the right verdict?  I don't know and neither do you.  The details of the complaint haven't been released and no one in this thread seems to be a patent lawyer.  All I was doing was making light of a PR statement.  Frankly, I'm a bit sick of people acting like I just stabbed their cat.  I simply poked fun at a multi-billion dollar corporation's choice of words.  Anyone who genuinely gets angry over that needs to go find their happy place and deal with it.  Nintendo's feelings will be fine, I promise you.

You post in such threads by choice. If you don't like the responses and attitudes around here, you are free to stay out of such threads altogether.

So you're saying the overreactions by tender fans are the fault of the person who offended them?  Even if those overreactions were beyond what was expected?  Noted.

That cheered me up.  I shall lift my chin, straighten my shoulders, and keep poking.  Thank you.

I pity you for your obsession with Nintendo.

No, that's not what I am saying. I don't blame Viper1 and others for making you feel very uncomfortable all of a sudden, because you are prone to freak out a little when you get corrected by Nintendo fans. That's just how you are.

What I was actually saying was a suggestion that is in the best interest of both sides: That you should stay out of (most/many?) Nintendo-related threads. You have trouble handling rebuttals, and sometimes even clarifications.

Unfortunately, I didn't get corrected.  That's kind of the thing, you know?  Go on, look it up, I'll wait.

You're kind of right, though, the sheer depth of the anger and fanaticism often takes me by surprise, even though it shouldn't at this point.  Anyway, as long as Nintendo has you, ready to ride in with your white steed on a moment's notice, it shouldn't matter.

Don't be silly.  I'm just commenting on a forum.  I have no problem with Nintendo and look forward to getting a 3DS before the year is out.  However, the hyper-defensive stance some people take related to a large corporation--yeah, that's kind of out there.

That would fall into the clarification camp then.

The above might be semantics, but your emotional investment is clear as day.

I know what your world revolves around.  If you think that's the same for everyone else, nothing I can do about that.

Who's angry? I'm just pointing out your inconsistency. If you have some issue against opinions differing from yours, I don't think that a forum is the best place for you to be.

And again, nothing is absolute until the end of the lawsuit and all appeals are over. So, "making fun" of a company for an unfinished lawsuit is kind of stupid, specially when you prove that you don't wanna change your opinion.

Dunno what to display here, soon I'll know what to put.

What opinion?  What are you talking about?

*sigh*

I'm not sure I should spend time doing this, but I'm in a good mood...

You already stated that nobody around here is a patent lawyer, right? That also includes yourself, or am I wrong?

So, even if you scream to the world that Nintendo is copying or "cleverly" saying that in a topic is also an opinion. If I disagree with you, it's also an opinion. Are you following or do I need to go on?

Ah, I see.  The problem seems to be that you do not understand the difference between opinion and fact.  The fact here is that Nintendo has been found guilty of patent right infringement.  You might not like that but it's a fact, not an opinion.  Unless they appeal and it gets overturned, that is a part of their history, which is pretty much true of every large corporation.

If you think me saying "er" is a scream at the world, well ... I don't know what to say, really.

Just deal with it already.
