Forums - Nintendo - Will Nintendo release a Mario Kart Wii U bundle right away?

We all know Mario Kart will be bundled at some point in time but will it be bundled right as its released? I think it could help boost sales by bundling it but at the same time they may not make as much profit by doing so. Overall I think it would be worth it in the long run.

Wii U Deluxe w/Mario Kart 8+Nintendo Land-$299

Wii U Deluxe w/New Super Mario+Luigi U-$299

Wii U Basic w/Wii Fit U+Balance Board+Fit Meter-$299

I think these would all be good bundles for the Spring

Well, if they bundle it with Wii U, price it at $299, they wouldn't be making any money on it, right? So I say no, but there will be a bundle, just not at MK8 launch. ALTHOUGH... if they increase the bundle price to $350, they would be making some back.

Maybe, but not at $299. One does not simply give Mario Kart away.

bundled.... with a second gamepad :) seriously I think this is the right time to release a second touchscreen gamepad!

The Wii Fit U Bundle wouldn't work though.  You NEED the Wii remote to play all but a few games, so you can't do 300 for Wii Fit U, Balance Board, and Wii Fit Meter.  You'd have to throw in an extra controller, and you might as well do Wii Party to make the package more appealing.  You could make that 350.

So I'd do it like this.

Mario Kart U Bundle-  Wii U Deluxe + Mario Kart@ $300

Wii Fit U Bundle-  Basic Console, balance board, fit meter, Wii Fit, Wii Remote, Wii Pary, preinstalled Wii Sports w/7 day passes for $350

They wouldn't, but at this point, they need the install base to rise, and fast, to ensure any sort of third party support.  It's not like they'd be losing any more money they are now, and they could just do it as a temporary thing like the WW Bundle.

Right away nah, specially not at those pricepoints, maybe for the hollydays but it will all depend on Wii U's situation after summer

The Wii U could be on the road of being a mediocre selling home console (stretching from 20-30mil. units)
and the only way to achieve this is to bundle, bundle and bundle even more.

Games like Mario Kart are perfect for that matter.

My suggestion: Wii U premium + Mario kart 8 + a remote plus / Wii wheel; retailing at 349.

limited run bundle. MK8 + wii U + 2nd controller + toy figurine . $400

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It's a good question. They do need the games' revenue, since this console is the first to be sold at a loss. On the other hand, it STILL doesn't sell, so another price cut is inevitable anyway. Might as well keep the 300€$ price and bundle MK8. They could make some money on Wiimotes.
