If there was any year to be considered "The year of the PS3" it was 2013! The software sales alone are the 2nd best year for PS3. (down only slightly) Sony ended the year not only with more million sellers but it was also the year that overall PS3 sales overtook X360 world wide. Talk about going out with a bang! Now to look forward to a great year of jrpg's and enjoy the system's legacy years coupled with price cuts to really stretch out those legs.

Anyone who visits VGChartz for the numbers?

Judging by Dark Souls' performance, I expect Dark Souls 2 to be a similar million seller on PS3 / not on 360.

Same deal with Lightning Returns, using XIII-2's performance as a template.  It needs a million sales from NA; EU & other to reach 1 million on 360; it needs ~ 600k on PS3, and like XIII-2 I think it'll make it on PS3 but not 360.

Xillia 2 won't make it, too much drop off in Japan.

Persona 5 won't make it.  The series has grown in popularity, but it's still "internet-popular" rather than real world popular.  It'll put up a good fight but fall short.

Persona 5 will sell above 1 million. It's gained a lot of popularity since Persona 4 both in Japan and oversea. The JRPG scene in North America is healthy and if Persona 5 ends up being a great game then it will sell well.

If Ni No Kuni can do it.

Ps3 also has lighrning returns, ffx/x-2 remaster. Those 2 would easily get to a million in it's first or 2nd week of release in the west.

People on this site do. Which is what we do. So it doesn't matter what else others are thinking of it.

Please don't remind us of Lightening returns. I've never seen a character so forced upon the masses in my life.

But I imagine the total millions sold among the million sellers will favor the 360 ;)
