Steamcast ?

1) Just build a damn desktop, ranging from 500 to 1000$, and slap the Dreamcast name on it.

2) Port Shenmue I and Shenmue II to SteamOS. Bundle it.

3) SEGA is back. Only on the Steamcast you can play the ultimate versions of SEGA games.

Revive the Dreamcast controller and make it modern. Even the screen is already there like the steam controller.

You know you would buy it.

Why doesn't everyone in the industry make a steambox while they are at it. They just revealed like 14 different ones.

A name associated with failing so much they exited the hardware market? Perhaps also a Philips CDibox? or Apple branding their next range of gaming tablets after the Pippen? :D

Companies normally just brush failed devices under the carpet, I know the Dreamcast had a few cool games PSO, SA1+2, Powerstone, soul calibur... there is a few but yeah hardware wise it died a death.

I guess that would be really cool, however highly unlikely. Hell they could just license the Sega/Dreamcast name to some manufacturer and receive royalties for it. This plus selling games for yet another platform would not hurt Sega at all.

I would love it because Sega could make their awesome troll commercials like they did in the nineties....

From like February last year, they came out and no one cared.

From what I see that was only released in Japan and it is a skin that you aplly to the laptop.

I'm talking about a rehash of a failed but loved name, the Dreamcast, in form of a PC that would be the only machine bundled with Shenmue remakes.

I'd be all over it. And it would be the most recognized by name out of all steam machines.

Nope just bring the games to Xbox Live and PSN. Makes way more sense.

Stuff like this is why SEGA lost money and became 3rd party.

Would make more sense to just put the games on real platforms.
