According to a Microsoft exec it's because they wanted people to know that the Reclaimer trilogy (4, 5, 6) is no longer a trilogy. So not giving this a number is a way to make sure that that people know that there will be more than 3 games. Plus, I get the feeling that this is going to be more of personal game that's about the Chief as he tries to cope with Cortana's loss and likely tries to get her back, as opposed to dealing with the over-arcing plot of the Reclaimer storyline, in other words more a Halo 4 Part 2 than a Halo 5. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll still name it Halo 5, but I get the feeling that it'll be Halo with a subtitle.

Ok, that's what I'm thinking too. If it's coming this year and they still won't call it Halo 5, then it's probably as you said not going to be called Halo 5, but Halo: ?????.

Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Minus the glitches due to being rushed, Halo 2 was my favorite game thus far. I loved switching between Chief and the Arbiter, I loved the multiplayer, I loved the story (including the cliffhanger ending).

I mean a rushed game.
