Decent opening I guess, but not amazing. It's higher than OoT3D had, but that game had next to no userbase to sell to. According to VGC both DS games had a bigger opening (305k and 307k). For shits and giggles I looked up A Link to the Past on SNES, VGC has Japan numbers, and that had a first week of 318k .

Well, Final Fantasy is bigger than Zelda, especially in Japan, on top of being more front-loaded compared to typical Nintendo games so I wouldn't really call it surprising.

HAHAHAHA, FF XII HD Remaster coming soon pretty much confirmed. X sold very well on both platforms, and will do the same on North America(if the preorder numbers are not too much overtracked), there is just no way that they will not do the same HD Remaster with FF XII!
