I'm sure Sony is happy selling out every bit of available stock for now. It's a good problem to have and it creates a lot of hype having the system everyone swarms to as soon as it's on store shelves.

If he was that impatient should of just went on ebay and got a ps4 for $500ish...plenty in stock on there from reliable sellers, and the x1 is $500.. also there is trackers online that give you basically instant updates when stock arrives.. every day there is some ps4's in stock for short periods .. even if it's just 5 mins. doesn't seem like to big of a sony fan if you ask me.
I can see the Microsoft commercial now...

I don't think saving a few bucks was his biggest concern. Bear in mind he did buy the more expensive machine.
If he really felt that strongly about Sony hardware, he would have ordered one online or checked out Craigslist. Plenty o PS4's to be found there.

I assume video game addiction. If he can't wait 1 or 2 more weeks to get the console of choice he has some serious issues.
