Forums - General - Antidepressants almost ended my life; I was seeing things that weren't there

I don't want so say you're stupid, but how in the hell did you think it was a good idea to buy random crap on the internet? You don't know for sure what it is and nobody else does. Why do you think antidepressants are prescribed? You can't buy medicines for cancer on the internet either. The patiënts taking those medicines must examinated once in a while.

However, in my case (I'm taking fluoxetine) antidepressants are a miracle. I like that feel how serotonine isn't taken up so fast between the synapses in my brains :D. I'm sort of completely restored from my depression and anxiety disorder.

I'm sure that every person has dealt with some sort of depression or anxiety at least once in their life. But I have a long history of depression which I don't want to talk about it too much because the less I do the better it. But I must share this story because it made me a better/smarter person and also because I do not want others to make the same mistake as I did.

A few months ago, I was extremely depressed I felt like my whole life was turned upside down. Thus I decided to buy a bottle of antidepressants online based on good reviews. (No I did not have permission from my doctor) I was taking them everyday as instructed. After about I would say a week, I started feeling so much worse. I wanted to throw up, I was constantly dizzy. I would randomly wake up in the middle of the night, the TV would turn on on its own and the lights in my room would turn on on its own. The weirdest thing that happened to me was when I was at school one day I wanted to throw up because I was feeling so bad. During my math class a bald man was standing by the door his face pointed at our class he was staring right at me and pointed his finger at me with a very angry look on his face. He was bald, had yellow teeth, and had a black leather jacket on. That really scared me. That same night before going to bed I went to drink a glass of milk in the kitchen some body yelled "Help me god damn it!" it freaked me out. I thought i was my half-brother trying to pull a prank on me but he was sleeping. Everyone was sleeping except for me. Finally I came to my senses and visited my doctor. He did a blood test to see what was in my system. After which he told me this isn't no antidepressants he didn't believe my story, He said "it's best if you tell me the truth who sold you this medicine? I will not contact the authorities". I insisted that I was telling the truth he said then stop taking them. And he was right of course i stopped taking them and things went back to normal.

The crazy thing is that the reason why I didn't get off the medicine earlier was because I thought i was seeing things because I wasn't taking enough of it so i began to take 2 pills instead of 1 a day. That made it even wrose which lead me to go see my doctor.

Has anyone here every dealt with something similar? Also my advice is that if you are depressed do not buy things online make sure you ask you doctor first.

which one was it?

What do you mean?

there are many different anti-depressants with a few different "classes"..   what is its name/chemical compound?   Ive been on alot

edit:  The symptoms you are describing sound closer to that of an anti-psychotic  when taken by someone who doesnt need it

Why would you try this without going through a doctor? That's just plain dumb.

LOL holy shit thats a good way to fuck yourself up. Almost sounds like some bad shrooms or acid.

Dude I am so curious as to what you actually took. Sounds like LSD or something. That's insane. I'm glad you're ok, and I'm glad you've realized to never buy medication on the internet again.

I must admit that I cannot recall excatly what is was. I remember looking at so many of em and then decided to go with the one with the best reviews.

I trust no one, not even myself.

maybe it was a drug that gave you a sixth sense, like the movie. Maybe you were just seeing dead people....

I didn't want to be a dick, but I was thinking the same thing.

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

I have a good friend who i lost to a psychosis.. I try to visit him every month.. Just to see how he's doing..most of the time he's not ok.. Hearing voices.. Can't concentrate.. Can't even remember my name and calls me joe.. Its been years since he broke down.. He lost a lot of friends who can't handle it.. I don't blame them. It isn't easy to handle.. I had moments when i just wanted to punch him through the wall..

We will never get the old him back.. But sometimes, not many times, he is his old self again.. which brings a smile to me and his family.. Never lose yourself cause you won't find yourself ever again..
