I guess in fairness to him, while he predicted that the Vita would outsell the 3DS, he now calls it a dead console.  So he's not always on Sony's side, just mostly.

though unlikly, number 10 still has a shot. also, who cares if 10 is wrong. at the time everyone thought it was a sure bet. it doesnt prove he isnt a good analyst.

9, again, a sure bet. 360 would have been out for 5 years then and Wii was becoming dated. A lot of people expected Nintendo to launch a system instead of letting sales drag on for two years slowly becoming irrelevant (on top of ignoring sw).

and if the other 8 are like those two then i dont want to read that nonsense. just because they turned out wrong doesnt mean he isnt smart or good at what he does

Both these links that have been posted here so far have shown that the analyst's predictions have been fairly reasonable considering the market conditions and events at the time. What throws a prediction off is if something unexpected happens.

From what I understand, as a financial advisor, he's quite good. If he weren't, he wouldn't be employed at such a high level, period.

People think his primary job is making these far-reaching predictions in the media but that's only a minor aspect. His real job is advising clients where they should or shouldn't put their money, which is far more nuanced than fanboys talking about who is "winning" the console wars.

As an internet media celebrity? He's employed because he's entertaining and he's good in front of a camera. Pach Attack is a lot of fun. He also has certain groups of fanboys wrapped around his finger, which generates a lot of exposure and revenue. I don't always agree with him but I love the way he trolls.

The Internet thing is not a job its a hobby. He is not getting serious cash out of making predicitions on the internet. Also he doesn`t give a fuck if he is right or wrong when it concerns his "predictions". Because again he is not getting paid to do that. His services for his clients is to explain the market to them in numbers they understand and he amased over the time himself. He makes predictions on stocks. How they will develop and so forth. He calculates stuff for them, bank specific trends and he actually does his job very good or else he would have lost it a long time ago. Banks don`t play around they just throw out if you are not good enough.

Personally I find him entertaining and insightful from time to time. I enjoy pach-attack and his appearances on the bonus round. But I can see that people find his predictions and advice for the gaming industry annoying. However would anyone be able to be a gaming analyst constantly offering and being asked for the opinion on many subjects without upsetting at least someone?. Imo he criticises the industry as well as gamers and he does not appear to have a favourite company, just says what he thinks.
