I wonder if Nintendo can sell more of their own software than Sony can, despite Sony having (in the future) a major advantage in hardware sales.

No matter if the PS4/XboxOne/Wii U wins the gen, the PS4 will at least manage to overtake it for a while (IMO they will win).

Also, you are way to obsessed with 3D.

The wiiU is going to be Nintendo's biggest flop (aside from virtual boy). In about 6 weeks the ps4 sold 70% of the wiiu's life time sales. There is absolutely no evdicence supporting the wiiU will do better. The ps4 has sold better every respective week the two have been on the market. My guess is that the 3ds peaked in 2013. Aside from Japan, dedicated handheld consoles will be dead after this generation. No one cares about them anymore. The 3ds will sell half as many as its predecessor. The real race is between ps4 and xbox one, which the ps4 is going to win if Microsoft doesn't change its strategy.

Actually there was a week were the Wii U sold more then PS4 during November, and the week after, the Wii U had better sells in America alone.

You don't know the 3DS 2014 library , let alone features & media, but I do. Plus the price will be cut from $170 to $129.

And the 3DS has sold more in America most weeks then any other video game system' and same goes for Europe. So why is it hard for the PS4 & ONe to beat old age 3DS in sells.

Because they can't produce enough to meet demand lol!  Oh and I just checked the 3DS library and I don't see anything besides SSB, which is one game.  

 

P.S.  I think it is hilarious that people think everyone's gonna buy a Wii U for SSB when they can just get it on the cheaper 3DS...

Wii U probably won't get discontinued in 2 years, but it isn't outrageous to say it will in 3.  Oh and the 3DS has likely peaked.  No 100m sales, sorry!

I say sales will come down to:

3DS
PS4
Wii-U
Xbox One
Vita.

Microsoft will withdraw from the console war afterwards and Nintendo, if smart, will use the 3DS to make the Ultra-NES (or whatever follows the Wii-U) an near irresistible offer.

Damn man you have some weird 3D fetish! I know it's cool but damn I never saw a guy who liked 3D THAT much!

Anyway you must know that this kind of threads are kind of dumb as the PS4 is going to win the generation by far and that is a fact. It has everything going for it, price, third parties and Nintendo and Microsoft fucked up their strategies. How could they lose?

First of all, a lot of people are going to buy a 3Ds for the first time throughout for the current library.

Second of all there is Code of Princess 2 & Rodea the Sky Soldier & King of Pirates & Kirby & Yoshi's island & Metroid & Persona Q (remember Monster hunter) & a new Pkémon game and so fort.

And I think it's the other games that will sell the Wii U like Bayonetta 2 & Mario Kart 8 & Sonic Lost World & The wonderful 101 & unannounced games to be announce.....as well as Smash Bros. & ZombiU.

Nintendo has proven that their system software always has legs, while Sony & Microsoft have prove that they sell most of their software in the first 1 to 3 months.
