Forums - Gaming - what can fps's do differently?

There's actually a lot to it. Far Cry 3 showed me how rich and different the missions on a FPS can be. It's not all about shooting, climbing, light puzzles or an interesting story (Bioshock) are a lot more than your typical military forgettable capaign (like BF or COD). Actually you could also make an Uncharted-like FPS game, I think it could work.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Far cry 3 is such an underrated game. Even with its technical problems on consoles, it's really an incredible game, so ambitious in its scope and open world stuff to do and see.

I totally agree with the eurogamer 10/10 score of this game.

I am so hyped for Far cry 4.

No I haven't played the older CoD's.

- More dense forests to hide in. Maybe like 2 feet jungle bushes.
- New weapons types. More custom guns. Give the player the ability to custom make weapons.
- Better weather levels. IE- Heavy rain downpour/ Fog filled Levels/ Sand Storm desert level ala Uncharted 3.
- Jungle levels with wild animals as random hazards.

Why do they need to do anything different, look at CoD each game changes so much that the online is vastly different from game to game and now nobody cares for that mess. Sometimes things are fine the way they are.

Left handed shooting?

You've never played Counter-Strike, did you?

Less hallways.

i kinda know what you mean. that's why i have a rule to never play the same genre back to back. keeps all the genres feel fresher and less fatigue.

...no idea how to reinvent the shooter but i feel like MMOs (ala destiny) will feel very good and fresh.
