So, I'm ok with the nintendo idea to reuse their ip, if the gameplay actually have something different.

But, somethings had me thinking about for some time now.

Its no mistery that only the fact that have mario on the title help a lot on sales of that game, because from theirs 30+ ips, the ones that sells at full fleged 60 dollars are the zeldas, and marios, and pokemons, or a mix of it(smash bros and mario kart).

Remenber that they even tought about make the caracthers on W101 be nitendo caracthers? So far, its ok, not that those games are worse just because of that.

But the reveal of mario kart bring up somethings like: Hey, mario on the ceeling and on walls? Its f-zero!

And then with the recent trailer of kirby triple deluxe. A rythim mini game similar to harmoknight. A arena minigame like the smash bros one.

A mario level inspired on mario kart

Pokemon amie using concepts from nintendogs

Do you se a partten here? It's like they are takign idea from the ips that not sell that well and put on the games that sell well and call it a new ideas!

The problem is that mean, less actual new ideas. And that the other ips will have less full fleged iterations. This really cocerns me.

What do you guys think?

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

They're just fun bonuses, none of which provide anything near the core experience that you would get actually playing the other game. You're thinking too deeply into this. Nobody is going to suggest the Kart-esque stage in 3D World or Pokemonamie is going to lose a Mario Kart or Nintendogs sale.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Thats just how nintendo rolls.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Shigeru Miyamoto

I don't even use Amie, lol.

Honestly, it's very had to blame Nintendo. Had W101 been a Mario game, it would have sold exponentially more copies. That is what much of the Nintendo fan-base seems to want, like it or not.

It's annoying to me that they want to stick "Mario" onto everything but from a business standpoint it seems to be working.

I don't think they try to stick it on everything. I mean, that kinda happened over the years and they are just fufilling the demands. It just seems odd that Nintendo is doing virtually nothing with FZERO, Starfox and Metroid while Zelda and Mario are getting new games every year.

Double post. Sorry.

On the contrary, I'm A-OK with Mario Kart stealing F-Zero's drifting and anti-gravity mechanics. Even if it means no more F-Zero ever.
