The PS4 actually seems like it's going to have a pretty busy first year on the market. Infamous: Second Son, driveclub and (most likely) MLB The Show are all coming out in March and the system is finally launching in Japan this February. If they manage to keep the momentum going throughout the first year of release, it'll be at least competitive with the 3DS (with the exception of during the holidays, where the 3DS will still dominate).

Eh, it's alright for a first year, just saying things aren't going to REALLY kick off until we start seeing all the Uncharted 4/Gran Turismo 7/Final Fantasy XV/Metal Gear Solid V/Last Guardians release and all the western big hitters like Fifa/Madden/CoD/Battlefield/Asscreed ditch the crossgen compromising entirely.

True. I don't see the Cross-Gen titles being dropped for another few years for the PS or Xbox brand. The titles I mentioned are what I'd call mid-tier but there has been a lot of emphasis on Infamous:Second Son's overhaul between PS3 and PS4 titles. DriveClub could be big but at the same time, Gran Turismo fans want Gran Turismo. I am interested to hear what Sony have in their arsensal for the holiday 2014 though.

I'm not sure why people think The Last Guardian will be a huge game saleswise. ICO didn't hit a million in sales and Shadow of the Collossus only sold 1 million. The collection hit a million as well in retail sales (and possibly another million in PSN sales) but that doesn't exactly put it in the category of sales giant...I could be wrong, and hope that I'm proven wrong if any when The Last Guardian actually comes out but even then, it hasn't been confirmed that it's making the leap to the PS4.

If VGC is to be believed, SotC and ICO sold 2.7M physically.

Considering the 3DS is probably going to end up on par with last year, or lower if VGC is overtracking it again, I doubt next year will fare any better. This year we had some real heavy hitters for the 3DS, as well as a $129 model that was supposed to appeal to kids. Nintendo may choose to price cut, but it won't be by much. I'm guessing the 2DS will stay the same, but the 3DS will drop to $149 and the 3DS XL will drop to $169. Of course, price is no longer a problem for the 3DS (not since the drop to $169), so I doubt it will give it a huge boost.

So, yes, it will probably be ahead of the PS4, but it will be far from "domination." The PS4 should do at least 11M-12M. In 2015, however, I expect the 3DS will start to decline, while the PS4 will increase. So, 11M-12M for the 3DS, and PS4 14M-16M.

The Nintendo 3DS with the 3D ON has much more clearity and way more anti-aliasing then 4K HD LED TVs. So think image quality will be just fine in every aspect.....as long as they don't release a 8K HD LED TV.

I'd highly recommend going to see an optician.

Unless by clarity you mean you can clearly see the individual pixels.

You don't own a 3DS.

Anyways, with the 3D ON you don't see the individual pixels, you would be way more likely to see the individual pixels on the 2D device known as the PS Vita.

(I have own both)

Sure it will, just like it dominated 2013.

There´s a lot going on next year for the 3DS: Super Smash Bros, Mario Golf, Persona Dungeon Q, Dragon Quest, Kirby, Yoshi, Chibi Robo, Layton vs Ace Attorney, Layton & Azran Legacy, Detective Pikachu, maybe a Pokemon Z, Bravely Default.... and who knows what else developers are doing for Japan, since a lot of crazy games like Disney Castle or Tomodachi Collection are very popular there.

I just think it wont sell as well as in 2013, but no console will.

Honestly, 3DS already dominated globally in 2013. So it wouldn't be much of a surprise if it did so again this year.

Just from Smash alone, not including all the other greatness.

I hardly think that Smash can stand even 1 second against games like Destiny or The Division. Besides, Nintendo has used all its trump cards in 2013, so I expect a rather dramatic decline this year.

Maybe, but 3DS is in an advantageous position. It could sell millions based only on word of mouth at this point.

...or it could start facing saturation

Judging the midly success of 2DS, I really can't tell... but I'll bet it will do great again.

I don't? Did Luigi's Mansion 2 and Link Between Worlds go multi platform already?

I guess other companies started making Zelda Limited Edition systems. Oh wait no, I do actually own both an original 3DS and a 3DS XL. Maybe you have a super high resolution turbo charged 3DS. No stereoscopic 3D will ever anti alias 240 pixels to look smoother than 544 pixels, especially n the 3DS XL which has a comparable screen size.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
