Forums - Nintendo - 2014 YEAR OF Metroid

I think not - Nintendo will get more of their reliable big sellers out on WiiU before they start taking risks on Metroid - there's already Mario (both 2D and 3D), there's going to be SSB, MK, DK and some more Wii Series games out by the end of this year, give them a while for their other series and for them to repeat some of them.

I suspect if there is to be a Wii U Metroid game, it will be late 2015 or more likely, 2016 in my opinion - Metroid, though incredibly well-loved by fans, just isn't popular enough outside that dedicated group for it to receive priority

I wish! Even when Metroid games suck, they're still awesome.

Next year is actually the Year of Clu Clu Land...

Have a nice day...

I think its the year of the yoshi, at least 2 games will probably be released based on yoshi for 2014 (Yoshi's New Island and Earn Yoshi)... But with that being said, the Metroid pin on Reggie from VGX might give us a hint on something... Maybe they are making a new metroid game anyway or something to do with metroid at the very least :/

Retro announces they've expanded to a 500 member development team with 3 subdivisions. Sub group 1 is working on Super Metroid 2 (for wiiu and 3ds), Sub group 2 is working Metroid Prime 4 (for wii u), and Sub group 3 is working on Metroid Adventures (for wii u; similar to Starfox Adventures).

wth? link? or something... if it is thruth... going to cry rigth now!!

I was speaking hypothetically along with the whole scenario of 2014 being the year of Metroid. That would make it the year of Metroid in my mind and make me very happy lol.

Don't tease me. I've had a rough day. Are you serious, Clark?

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Shigeru Miyamoto

Metroid was not created by myamoto, so nitendno will not care :/. But i really hope nitendo keep doing "year of...". Every nitendo caracthere deserve it. But i had enough of luigi, lets move to the next nitendo, please doesn't overextend it.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Would much prefer a Star Fox year. It has been 7 years since a new original Star Fox game has been released, and 8 years since an original console Star Fox title has been released.

Do we really need more Metroid? Let's not forget Metroid:Other M
