Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

It wasn't that long ago the HD-DVD people were pinning all their hopes on Wal-Mart. The news today is a very different story. I honestly feel sorry for HD-DVD supporters who committed a lot to this war, but at least we have a unified standard now.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Yah this war is done, now the new war starts, Blu-ray vs. Digital downloads lol.

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

It's also funny because HD DVD people always claim that the numbers don't count Wal-mart which is where they say most of the sales come from.

Not anymore, mwahahah.

Walmart sells 75% of all DVDs in US, so they are a HUGE player in the market place.

This is the equivalent of Fat Lady singing.

Lol...yeah, I can't wait to see what HD-DVD will say after this announcement. We should hear something before this weekend.
they'll continue to spill bs about still being in the race until every one of their half price players is out of the warehouse. ( if you can get some of the money you put into manufaturing your current stockpile back your going to pretend that everything is okay.

More dirt on HD DVD's coffin. Now that the format war is over, we'll have to see if/how much this helps PS3 sales.

You can expect that to be the final blow for Toshiba, now Paramount and Universal have no choice but to switch, and that Toshiba announcement is just around the corner.

Actually I have read that Best Buy sells the most of both Blu-Rays and HD-DVD's.  Too bad Best Buy more or less committed themselves to Blu-Ray with their recent press release though.
