For me it has to be the moment the Tree Ents 'We are going to war!'

A close second would be the moment the Riders of Rohan attack in the Return of the King

You can probably tell, i'm having a bit of a LOTR nights, watching all the movies, moments thst stand out

So many OMG moments, but stand by my original choice :)

End of the fellowship were Boromir dies.

I think this one stands the test of time. And patience...

"Omg, Azog is not supposed to be alive!"

"Omg, Thorin looks way too young!"

"Omg, why does the goblin king have a scrotum beard?"

M I doin it rite?

And I forget, when did Gandalf ever go face to face with Sauron? Or is that a scene from Desolation of Smaug?

OMG moment for me in LotR was when the Haradrim attacked n return of the king.

In Hobbit (1) it was when the music started that you heard in the 1st trailer, in Hobbit (2) when I heard the voice of Smaug (german) gosh ... goosebumps.

The whole movies where OMG moments.

ALmost too many moments to list. LOTR is my favourite movie franchise of all time. I guess a few off the top of my head would be...

1. Gandalf facing off against the Balrog. The Balrog is still one of my favourite special effects of all time, too. Really well done.

2. When Aragorn and the others look out from the top of the wall at Helm's Deep to see the massive orc and goblin army stretching as far as the eye can see. That gave me chills.

3. The fight between Aragorn and the Uruk-Hai at the end of the first movie. That one moment where he runs it through, and you think it's going to die, but then it just pulls the blade in even further to bring Aragorn closer to it...I was like "Holy shit!"

4. When you first see Smaug after he comes out from under the mountain of gold and jewels....just awesome, and worth the price of admission to see it on the big screen. Probably my favourite CGI monster/character from any movie ever.

5. The Tree Ents battle is up there for sure as well.

I could go on, but we'd be here for a while!

The best moment for me without a doubt (and I didnt include in my first post as its ONLY in the extended edition) when Gandlalf comes face to face with the witch king, at that point Gandalf seemed so powerful, he faced so many things and came out on top, yet the Witch King in one spell broke his staff and had him on the back foot.
