i think sony did this to get to the top of the amazon sales charts cause they know amazon is really important and to be at the top in sales is a really big deal and will attract alot of attention.. smart move.

It was probably amazon hording shipments until this weekend considering its right before christmas and they can up sell on one and two day deliveries

It doesnt make sense to me either but retailers do it all the time. In this case im assuming amazon did it to establish some last minute christmas shopping. People who ordered ps4 might now be looking at smaller items they can get by monday
