Forums - Sony - PS Vita undertracked on EU/Americas?

The PlayStation 4's launch resulted in a significant boost in PlayStation Vita sales,Videogamer reports.

Vita sales increased by 68 percent the week of the PS4 launch, and 65 percent the following week, according to MCV magazine. Although Sony didn't release any specific sales numbers, it did attribute the sales bump to the company's new console: The Vita can be used as a second screen for the PS4.

"PS Vita sales wise we are continuing to see strong week-on-week growth since our latest campaign kicked in,"  Ben Law, senior project manager, said. "The new TV advert went live this week and we've already seen amazing feedback from PS4 owners on the Remote Play feature, and the success of Tearaway highlights what [a] great proposition PS Vita is, either as a standalone device or as the perfect companion to PS4."

The PS Vita recently reached its second birthday. Although the platform turned heads with its reveal in 2011, it's been struggling consistently since its release, leading Sony to include PSP sales in reports, in an effort to mask the Vita's struggles.

Not sure about Europe but Vita Overtracked (as well as 3DS but much smaller) in the US by 36k-41k (NPD)

I can see why Vita is over tracked in the US I can't get over how dire the Vita sections are in game stores there.

Some places in the UK have really good selections for Vita though and there is a pretty consistent turnover of bundle availability. I could see it being undertracked in Europe but highly doubt anyone in the US is buying the thing given the depressing sales of games such as Tearaway and Ys and the state of Vita at retail there.

My local GAME rack isn't as impressive as this, but still looks a lot better than anything I've seen in the US. This is how GAME are merchandising PlayStation sections at the moment though. (my local store doesn't have the Vita pods but it's  small town centre unit) the branding is still all the same.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Wow... now thats awesome :D

The handhgeld stands are still dominated by the PSP here, but the Vita is gaining ground. Almost 0 presence for Nintendo games, tough there was never much demand for them in  Romania :|
