but Wii U has no pwar. Don't lie to me OP!

What does the WiiU's power have to do with this? P: Hardware comparable to the PS2 could run a game at 1080p if it was simple enough, it's what it's showing in 1080p that's important (though for what it is, DK is still a nice looking game ^^).

everything. Just looking at some posts in Nintendo threads.

The closer we get to this game's release the more excited I become but I did have a few problems with DKCR. While I find DK's control too slippery for my tastes, my biggest problems were:

First, having to shake the Wiimote to achieve the roll, and second, having to time my button press to bounce high off of an enemy as opposed to just holding it down (ala Mario).

Regardless, I'll still pick it up since the imagination, platforming and level design will no doubt be top-notch, but fixing the two aforementioned control problems might spell the difference between a "day one buy" or an "eventual buy when I see it on sale somewhere".

Already fixed, the game supports the pro controller and Gamepad.

Yeah, I should have figured that I guess.  Hopefully they'll fix the "high bounce" issue as well, but... oh who am I kidding - I'll almost certainly be buying this immediately anyway.

It will be a nice bonus if this is 1080p native but I'm not yet convinced, we've had PR folk throw that around before when they have been referring to up-scaling.

I've just gone from playing Windwaker to Rayman Legends and I have to say that extra bit of resolution is nice as long as it doesn't compromise frame rate.

The high bounce issue is a consequence of the jetpack and the speedrunning nature of the game. If you had to hold down the button, you would be screwed every time you've picked up Diddy Kong, so Retro went with the lesser evil.

That's true; I experience the same problem when using Peach in 3D World since she floats.

I am still undecided about getting this game. At least my interest has gone up a little. I haven't played Donkey Kong since I was a kid and it was on the N64. Nostalgia!!

Andre from GameXplain is usually accurate with his revelations so there is a good chance that it is 1080p native. 60fps has already been confirmed.

The game I really want to be native 1080@60 is Bayonetta 2 but that's another discussion.

Kinda off topic: why hasn't Lanky Kong or Chunky Kong ever appeared again? Are those characters owned by Rare?

Because they both suck, especially Lanky. Tiny Kong isn't coming back either, but nobody needs her when we have Dixie.

I have a soft spot for Donkey Kong 64 even with acknowledging the fact that is not that great of a game.

And Lanky is freaking awesome!!! You are dead to me now!!

Yeah, Tiny and Dixie are practically interchangeable aesthetically, Donkey Kong is "Chunky" enough and Lanky... well... yeah, he sucked.  Besides, Cranky rhymes with Lanky.
