Is 75k a high sales level for a home console in Japan this year?  Yes.
Is 75k a high sales level for a home console in Japan that was once selling under 5k per week?  Yes.

In light of recent sales, a depressing Q3 in particular, it's very nice, agreed.

It should climb a little bit more when all is said and done this season and, as I recall, Japan usually has a stronger first week in January than other markets as well?

.... I wonder why people need to hate something to feel satisfied. Can´t people just enjoy their games and let the other enjoy theirs ? It´s so simple, yet so difficult to understand....

It does indeed because of the customary monetary gift giving on new Years which often leads to a decent level of video game sales the following week.   Mid January also has Coming of Age day which provides another nice little boost.

i think WiiU can still pull a 3DS in Japan, if somehow N can make 3rd parties jump on WiiU...
imagine if all the games PS3 is now getting One piece, Hatsune miku, Persona, Tales, FFantasy...etc. will join DQ and MH on WIiU it will make them sales explode lol

Good luck with that. The 3DS doesn't even get all that support (where's Final Fantasy remakes or a mainline game on 3DS?).
