Ya.......kinda agree. They hit their stride with Metroid Prime games. Now they are MIA or are making games people would have preferred was something else.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I blame Nintendo, I say let Retro do a new IP. It doesn't have to have a Triple AAA like budget just something new.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

They're really not that similar other than working on the DKC games.

Rare supplied like half of Nintendo's output during the N64 days and tilted the 16-bit war in Nintendo's favor late in the gen.

Retro is a one team studio that works on one game at a time, generally all established Nintendo properties. And commercially anyway, making a new DKC probably makes more sense than a Metroid game ... DKCR outsold all three Prime games combined.

Just like how Kinect Sports IP outsold many other niche titles they made in the past ;P

Both companies were ordered to take the safe route and appeal to the broad audience. But both were most loved when they made games for the niche, hardcore gamer audience. Sure they sold less, but are remembered to this day.

They explanded too two teams apparently - one home console, and one 3DS the rumors say.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

That's funny, I was just thinking about this. Retro is definitely the new Rare, although Retro doesn't turn out games as quickly as Rare did during its glory days.

The author is also right about Retro topping Rare in its current form, but failing (so far) to top Rare of old. But the future is bright.

Retro needs a second team, if they did we could get a game every 1.5-2 years or so from them instead of 3 years.

Feb 2014-DKC

Aug 2015-Metroid

Nov 2016-New IP or Star Fox

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

That's a old article from 2011. But still relevant and needs Nintendo's attention.

But now reading Retro say they were working on ''a project everyone wants us to do'' makes me facepalm untill my face bleeds. Seriously, how in anyone minds someone can think that after 3years of silence, a 2d donkey kong scroller was a game everyone wanted from them?!

The same thing when I heard Retro say they long hesitated between making a Metroid or Donkey Kong game but at the end they went for Donkey Kong. Makes me want to kick in the nuts all those morons who made this decision on behalf of the entire gaming community.

Yes... but DKCR existing won't sell any more Wii Us. The thing is saturated with platformers. They need to be working on, if not Metroid, then something that will bring in a kind of gamer EAD cannot.
