Didn't have any of the problems ^^. I always leave it on as it is easy to sign in and give commands.

I always seem to run into problems when it comes to MS for some reason. They just don't like me I guess.

Where are you from ? Kinect might be having issues with your accent.

Nothing to say about the rest of your MS curse except good luck .

Oh yes I forgot to mention, I have a hardcore Canadian accent. lol. But yeah I've heard of Kinect having trouble picking up accents. Good catch.

My friend uses it for multimedia functions, but most of the time he just uses the controller. He uses the Smart Glass more than the Kinect. You don't even need to do voice commands to use the 'Xbox Snap' function.

Nope. Its an awesome idea that MS once again can't do properly. I thought it was funny when I sat in front of the Kinect and it signed my friend in. I thought it was funny when I started up the IE app but it brought up Youtube instead, so I said, "Xbox, go to Internet Explorer", then it snapped IE and I couldn't unsnap anything. I gave up on Kinect right then and there. And apparently this Kinect is better than the 360 version? lol, oh MS, only you could make hardware this unstable.

So no, I always have it unplugged, but its definitely an awesome idea.

funny....I've never had anything like that happen when I'm playing the x1 at my friend's place.

the only issue is when one of my friends who looks like me and I are sitting next to each other and the kinect confuses us, but other than that, none of those other issues I've observed.

Yeah I'm sure its not a big problem and everyones going to run into different problems (or none at all), I just don't find Kinect to be revolutionary like every Xbox fan says. It saves a few seconds (when it works) and it wastes seconds (when it doesn't work). Kinect is pretty much useless unless you have a game that uses it specifically.

"...kinect to be revolutionary like every xbox fan says." -  Not every person who is a fan of the xbox says that.  Fanboys, maybe, but not every xbox fan.

"useless unless you have a game that uses it specifically" - totally disagree.  if you're trying to find something that is hidden beneath layeres upon layers of menus and waypoints, simply saying the name of the app or whatever to go there in an instant is much more easier and faster.  And when you're in the kitchen and you have your hands full in there and don't want to go pick up the controller, physically type in whatever and navigate to whatever app, simply shouting out (depending on how far you are from the xbox) to get where you want is eons more efficient.  I can definitely name more non-gaming uses for kinect, but I'll leave it at that.  Oh yeah, the way kinect quickly (and yeah, it's pretty instant) scans your xbox live code is pretty darn useful.

I'm actually kind of enjoy the Kinect. Work fine when you don't have the TV to loud or a lot different sounds coming from other devices.

I have to admit, I think MS gave the X1 a complicated UI just so you have to depend on using the Kinect. But it is faster to say something like "Xbox Snap Netflix" rather than go home, click snap, then choose Netflix from the list.

I don't know if you've been on the Xbox One store but it is empty!! And that's why pins were made and are much more useful than useing Kinect, at least for me anyways. I've said, "Xbox, turn off" and it went to playing CoD: Ghosts.

Yes! Scannign was the biggest use of the Kinect so far. When I got the day one edition Xbox One edition I heard about scanning the code instead of typing it in so I tried it and it worked like a charm. So yeah you definitely have a point there but the rest just depends on if it works or not.

I will happily admit to having shouted in from the kitchen to the sitting room for the original Xbox360's kinect to go to apps and start youtube while I'm making a tea and it works fine from 1 room away. I think some peoples accent just really catches it out, worst thing you can do if it doesn't understand your command tho is to get angry and grit your teeth saying it because then it definitely will not pick up what you want.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Woah, yeah that definitely is an isolated problem. Most likely an accent situation.
