Wouldn't even matter if the WiiU only had first party games on it.

Does anybody play a FPS game on a Nintendo console ?

FPS games like COD 3/World at War/Modern Warfare/Black Ops and Goldeneye 007 sold over a million units each on the Wii.

sales says otherwise unless you think it profitted with such low numbers. Its not just COD its other 3rd party games as well.

I get that people felt scewed but its business maybe Acti didnt feel the need to add DLC support for a version that didnt even sell abobe 250,000

If COD wasn't profitable on Nintendo systems, Activision wouldn't have invested in 8 of them across Wii and Wii U.

COD games arent that expensive since theyve been running on the same engine for years. But dont be surprised if you dont see a COD game on Wii U next year.

Well considering the WIi U didn't have the special edition and the prestige edition with the covert HD camera, most COD geeks went for the other platforms.

Plus we already know the audience left COD on Wii when Modern Warfare launched on the HD twins and skipped Wii. Then when a port come out 2 years later it was too late.

that doesnt really explain why COD on Ninty platforms did worst and worst as time went on, it cant be just cause MW1 was late to the console, becasue at that point it wasnt even the PEAK of COD's popularity, fact is the series was most popular with Blops/MW3 two games that Wii did get and on time. Hell DS got a MW1 game and the series started dropping after that too.

It is a cascading effect. I was one of the first of my friends to shift to PS3. Then when the other games come along later they had no one to play with so some of them followed me others went to 360. I even got the game on Wii jsut so I could play with one friend that couldn't afford more than one console lol.

The fact is IW has always shunded Nintendo systems even to this day. It may be for good reason I don't know. But what I do know is any serious audience that did exists on Wii ended up on PS360. Part of that was obviously Nintendos fault has the hardware wasn't capable of delivering HD gfx so developers did not want to spend too much effort downporting so they didn't bother.

This is why I said before the gen started Nintendo need to forget about trying to get hardcore gamers to switch form their system.

They need to instead retain their kids who grow into adults. These  future adults will become the hardcore gamer on their platform, assuming they  can retain them. Nintendoland if it was better executed is a good way to market your IPs. then steadly release them over time and these kids can identify with them.

However they seem to be stuck between two world and no one exactly know who they are targetting. So at this stage I cannot see how multiplatform games will ever sell a decent number on a Nintendo system unless somehting drastic changes.

The thing is these kids that grow up are going to WANT to play the coolest games out there. There are simply too much series that were missing on Ninty systems since...hell since N64. The irony is that this was supposed to change with the WIi U. It was not going to be that far behind the PS4 xone in terms of power, at least not a big a gap that Wii had with the HD twins. Now its not even getting PS360 games, so i cant imagine what happens whed devs start really messing with PS4/xone. It isnt just COD, its just the whole 3rd party environment. If it isnt a game that is family friendly, platforming it seems to falter on the system, hell even then (not like Rayman or SOnic lit up the charts). There are lot of excuses made, but look at Watchdogs, got announced with all the systems, was able to be preordered with the others. Now which is the only version NOT on the preorder charts?

They have treated Nintendo like crap for years.

If for years a product was sold exclusively at Walmart and then they started selling it at Costco but didn't advertise it. Would you be surprised when the majority of sales come from Walmart. Of course not because customers are use to go to Walmart to get it, they dont know they could get it else where.

Its on 3rd parties to win their audience back on Nintendo platforms. They have to put in the work, no more half assed version, advertise, give people reasons to buy their games. They prolly wont have choice once ps4/xb1 sales start falling off a cliff. They will need every sale they can get.

you serious? PS4 and Xbone had great lauches and as long as they can supply demand people will buy them, the sales wont drop to Wii U levels and thats besides the point. PS4 and Xone versions of COD have done great. Acti doesnt need cod on Wii U

So what, the WiiU sold 3.06 million in its first month. PS4/XB1 are just filling pre-orders to fans that buy regardless of games, we see sales drop massively already.

Analysts are already predicting that next-gen consoles - even 'successful' ones - will have the slowest adoption rate in history.

More than HALF of all current PS3s were sold within the last two years. Process that.
Do you honestly believe those people, having JUST bought the PS3, are going to want to buy the follow-up less than 2 years later?

No matter how well they may or may not sell the userbases of XB1/PS4 are going to tiny to the X360/ps3 userbase they will be losing. They will need absolutley every sale they can get, end of story.

Hence COD on Nintendo systems being profitable. If they weren't, the ports would have stopped years ago.

you didnt answer my question. Do you think either system will drop down to WIi U levels? Yes or No.

Thats why they and others will keep supporting the PS3 and 360 for as long as they can, you know systems where people actual buy the COD games. COD sold better on PS4 and Xone despite Wii u having a bigger install base process that. COD sales for WIi U is terrible and account for less than 1%. They dont NEED the WIi U end of story.

Exactly my whole point. They need to start retaining these kids. Only way to do that is to release top notch 1st party at a steady pace, throw in the mature titles too like metroid etc.. in the mix and then invest in new mature IPs.

Ontop of that they need to work with 3rd parties to see what they want but yet doesn't compramise their qerkyness but enough to keep the 3rd parties happy.

Effectively they need to grow their brand like XBOX has.
