I'm pretty sure microsoft went to doing alot of giveaways. Last time I checked didn't I say that it was fad ? If you look at the sales now I'm pretty sure it's doing horrible now. In any case 30 million is pretty much trash for an extension of a platform compared to the WII. |
you could say the samething for the wii, the wii was deemed trash by the 360/ps3 as well, the wii had over 100 million in sales, yet nobody is there supporting it's successor, i wonder why.

How can I say the same for the WII if it lasted for 4 healthy years and not 3. A fad is something that dies quickly and the WII does not meet this criteria. Sure the WII was not to the PS360 base's liking but even they acknowledged that it was better than the WII U. The reason as to why nobody is supporting it's successor is because nintendo keeps throwing out gamecube esque games. Last time I checked the gamecube was a flop.
| pokoko said: I disagree. Business is about a lot more than "winning" the total units metric. Sales rate is more important. Right now, obviously, the sales rates for the XO and PS4 are astronomical, which doesn't actually mean much in the long-term. The sales rate for the Wii U, on the other hand, is just plain not good and it looks like it's going to miss out on some key third-party releases. Honestly, we won't know who is doing the "winning" until sales rates have stabilized, which means next year. Talking about it when two of the three consoles have just launched is kind of meaningless. |
I've been trying to tell people that they shouldn't read into the 1st week or 2 of sales, but they wont listen.
I would agree with Cinemablend, I have a Wii U and PS4, and I've played my Wii U more since I got my PS4. I only have Knack so far, and if it wan't for that game I would have put off getting a PS4 until next year. I hate Military first-person shooters and sports games, and that's about all there is on PS4 and XBONE just now. I think the PS4 and XBONE launch hysteria is dying down, and the sobering up is now happening with no new full retail releases until next March.

this doesn't make no sense, the wiiu has all the sequel to the best sellers on wii, including sequels to wii sports, wii party, nsmw and wii fit, and don't tell me its because they suck, the buyers of those previous games, haven't even bought them, if that's what the mass market wants you think they would be selling much better.

A game with no ambition will not be bought with the masses. 2D mario clearly suffered on that part and so will the rest of the best sellers on the WII. If nintendo keeps making games where there is no clear effort then the masses will buy it.
WiiU sales will slowly pick up, wait and see
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
