Forums - Gaming - VGChartz should stop tracking software sales

I'm being dead serious in this thread. With downloading games being more popular what is the point in VgChartz tracking software sales? Vgcharts isn't even very accurate with Hardware sales some of the time so I know software isn't accurate. VGChartz looks silly when games like minecraft 360 sell 10 million and this site has it for 1 million because we don't track digital. I say vgcharts stops tracking software and puts more resources into finidn out how much hardware sells. Maybe even a bi-weekly update on hardware sales. More break downs per state/country. I just feel like software updates are completely worthless but I love watching the hardware grow on here. I know this is going to be unpopular but what do you guys think?

There is nothing to worry about my friend! We here at Vgchartz support all suggestions that we receive so we will certainly look into this.

Or they could somehow start trying to track digital sales?

It won't be as accurate, but hey, better than getting rid of software tracking completely.

That's a possability but I don't think IOI has the resources to do that or else he would have already done it

All Vgchatz need to do is make a deal with NSA... Then they can track digital sales easily

Just find a way to track digital.

Most people that come here knows that without digital it isnt completely accurate but it is acceptable because e at least have estimates for retail which is better than nothing.

We should have a separate section for digital and physical sales.

You should quit your job and never stop trying to improve.

No tracking service added digital yet... NPD, MediaCreate, Famistu, GFK, etc... so why do you expect VGC do that? I think they focusing in be accurate with the retail sales is fine... digital is a low part of the sales yet.

They definitley should stop, they just aren't accurate enough at all. Even when news on sales do come out they don't bother to fix the numbers.
