SOMEBODY would have seen video games as a good idea and marketed them. I'm glad Nintendo did it and I love them for it but somebody else would have attempted to revitalize the gaming market. I was a little kid and I had too much fun playing the grown up's Atari. I used to make my mom take me to this restaurant called Tasty Freeze just so I could play the old arcade games they had in the back of the store. The fire was set in me and I know I wasn't alone.

If the Wright Brothers weren't the first to fly (and some say they weren't), eventually we'd be flying too. It may have taken longer but I'm confident that video games would still be huge.

Atari and Sega would have been there at the time I started playing games. Who knows maybe turbo gfx16 would have been more successful? A bunch of what ifs could have happened.

Didn't they put the industry back in place after the Videogame crash? If Nintendo didn't exist then they industry would have taken longer to get back on track. If they didn't exit we wouldn't have Mario, Pokemon, Zelda or Metroid, that would be sad.

Considering Sony essentially is in the games industry because of Nintendo, and MS is in because of Sony, without Nintendo, we would probably have a games industry consisting of Apple and Google battling it out for supremecy with their Iconsole and Droidbox, then we'd have PC/Steambox taking about 20%, and the Sega Jupiter carving a small niche of 5%

Without Nintendo there would be no Playstation, without Nintendo and Playstation gaming would suck bad.

I was reading an article by Lincoln (cant remember his first name but he was head of Nintendo America).

At the time Nintendo launched the famicom or NES in New York every single market research and analysis pointed to it being a massive failure. Atari was dead and no one was interested in gaming consoles at it was at the time.

Only the most stubborn of companies -and we all know Nintendo is exactly that- would have persisted and ignore these warnings.

No one can tell what would have happened in a parallel universe where they had heeded these warnings.

We can only deal with what happened, not what could have.

That would be like living in hell damn. Could imagine 80% gamer play game like candy crush, angry birds and all those casual games * shudder *. This site wouldn't even be made if Nintendo didn't exist along with many critic site.

Sony would've helped SEGA with their disk drive and conquered all. And we probably would have Shenmue VI by now.

I am the Playstation Avenger.
