I was reading an article by Lincoln (cant remember his first name but he was head of Nintendo America).

At the time Nintendo launched the famicom or NES in New York every single market research and analysis pointed to it being a massive failure. Atari was dead and no one was interested in gaming consoles at it was at the time.

Only the most stubborn of companies -and we all know Nintendo is exactly that- would have persisted and ignore these warnings.

No one can tell what would have happened in a parallel universe where they had heeded these warnings.

We can only deal with what happened, not what could have.
