Forums - Nintendo - Pokemon X/Y 1.2 Update on eShop (Stops Battle Analyzer and Instacheck Hacks)

Thank god it's fixed. That was a hilarious oversight on their part before releasing the game

Awesome. I heard about these hacks -- the analyzer one only briefly, very recently. Glad to see they're on top of that.

The egg hack isn't a big deal IMO but the analyzer one would have crippled ranked play.

I'm happy for this,

I'm happy Gamefreak is addressing issues like these in a reasonably fast time.

It would have been disastrous for trading.

Now I can trade my legit shiny Minccino in peace.

Um these third party programs were made like a month ago, not before launch.

Thank the goddess that Game Freak got on this issue (battle analyzer and instacheck) pretty darn fast. Battle Analyzer could have destroyed the online battling component entirely.

Now, once poke bank releases, i'm gonna go back to Ranked battles again.

Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact Gamefreak didn't use any kind of encryption. For the online component of their game. This shouldn't have been possible in the first place

*Note: You can't go online until you download this patch.*

-Fixes an occasional bug causing Pokémon not to learn new moves after evolving through Wonder Trade.

-Fixes an occasional bug where certain captions for Trainer PR Videos were not unlocked in Lumiose City.

-Updates an Internet communication issue.

The "Internet Communication Issue" breaks two known 3rd party programs they have plauged the game.

The first was Battle Analyizer which allowed you to see an oppenants moves / IV's / EV's / and even what move they selected.

The second was Instacheck, which allowed you to see the IV's / shinyness of your egg before it hatched, this had a lot of people trading with the right people to get 100% shiny chance.

I'm glad Gamefreak is on top of things like this, makes me hope Gen 6 will remain hack free.

yep, very glad they are on top of these things.

Offtopic: Where do you get those pokemons on your sig? I mean the avatars?

Well its not a bug, the game is just not optimized (or is limited by the hardware).

One of the few BIG negatives of the game.

The slowdowns will probably be addressed in the next games, kinda like the DS gens, DP were slow as fuck, Platinum improved the engine and was faster, HGSS improved it even more and were faster, then once Gamefreak came to a point where they knew a lot about the hardware, they designed a new engine for BW, which was really fast, and improved on it in BW2. Now when you compare DP to BW2 you'd have a hard time believing the games are running on the same hardware.
