I'm sorry.. I'm still waiting for you to show me where I said that people don't buy a game console first and foremost to play games.... where'd you read that again? I can't seem to find it anywhere!! Silly me... always losing stuff.

Here, let me help you.
Your statment: "No one buys a console anymore 'just to play' games."
My response: "People to this day buy Megadrives, Nes, Snes, Gameboys, Saturns, PS2s, PS1s and so on frequently on ebay, all these systems can do is play games, so there goes your statement."
Clearly, people DO buy a games console "JUST" for games, even today.
And again, feel free to prove your naysayers wrong and provide them with the PSN and XBL id for the accounts used, so they can confirm your play time / claims for themselves.

dude.. the OP's about the new consoles, or didn't you get that from the title where I go, 'Impressed by the PS4... Blown away by the X1' you see Freq, what I was actually talking about ( I really feel like I need to explain this to you ) were the deciding factors one can count on when purchasing either the PS4, or the Xbox 1, which sorta lead back to my title where I go, 'Impressed by the PS4... Blown away by the X1' Both machines play some pretty amazing games and additionaly, both machines have some really cool ancillary features that help them stand out from one another, which is why I decided to title my post like this and go, 'Impressed by the PS4... Blown away by the X1'
you see Freq, it's a post about the PS4 and the X1. it really is.

Perhaps you should study english, then.
"No one buys a console anymore 'just to play' games."
While the topic may well be about the PS4 and Xbox One, this statement is a general, sweeping statement about ALL gamers, and the lack of specifics beyond "console" leaves said statement open to ALL consoles, the use of the word "anymore" both liberates the statement from the confines of topic based context and further illustrates the generalization of your statement, while including past consoles, for if we switch "console" with "ps4/xbox one", you get "no one buys a ps4/xbox one anymore 'just to play' games", it makes little sense as the use of anymore suggests that there has been a long standing availability of the hardware.
But again, even if you correct your statement to the following;
"No one buys a PS4 or Xbox One 'just to play' games."
To which you are essentially claiming was your intended point, you would still be wrong. While you may not want to accept it, there are thousands of people buying PS4 and Xbox One, who are doing so JUST for games, many of these people who do not have internet access, to whome social networking features and web browsing becomes useless, as such they buy the console simply for the games that run on it.
And for the third, and final time, and I will openly say I believe you to be delibrately skipping this section of each post because you're straight up lying.
"feel free to prove your naysayers wrong and provide them with the PSN and XBL id for the accounts used, so they can confirm your play time / claims for themselves."
Beyond that, I won't be responding to you in this topic any further because It is clear to me and most of the other commenters in this topic that you are either lying, or particularly biased and essentially ignoring reality to suit your argument.
