Forums - Gaming - Impressed by the PS4... Blown away by the X1

Aren't you able to take over controls in someone else's game from your own house on the PS4?

Not yet i dont think, i havent figured it out to help my father with the ocean part of CoD.  there are alot of features that are "Coming" to the ps4, seems like sony rushed to beat MS out the gate this time so features are missing, like wireless headsets.  just hope we dont have to wait long for theese features to be put on it.

Leaving aside the dubious nature of the OP...can anyone enlighten me why it's such a great thing that the XBox One can do alt-tab now? Do people have such short attention spans that it's a selling point that you can do god knows how many things at once just because one of them can't seem to hold you attention?

Ever since it was announced, this whole thing with the alt-tab functionality has been a mystery for me.

for all you people arguing about what the most innovative peripheral is:

i prefere to have innovative software (games) and not hardware. and if there is one thing that the last years have proven than it's that there's only one console dev who's actually trying to create/invest into innovative games.

Gamers buy consoles "just" to play games, I bought all my systems for that reason. Never used PS3 for Blu-Ray, or 360/PS2 for DVD or even PS1 for CD player functions. Heck my 360 isn't even plugged into the internet. Why are you buying a Video game console if you're not interested in the games?

If I wanted to check my facebook, I'd just use a laptop, I can't give up any of my screen for that.

I don't even have cable, so what good is an XBO for me?

As a gamer, I plan to get a WiiU/PS4 - Just for games. I have a PC which can play most of XBO's games, and I'll likely buy an XBO if they make a Kinect free model, at the end of the generation, for the small handful of exclusives not available on PC.

Also WiiU wins with innovation. Not only are WiiU games completly different from the generic games you get on PS4/XBO, but WiiU was the first one to come to the market with the TV/Cable interface. Plus on Wii U, you can check the scores on the gamepad, but still play on the screen.

PS4 wins the graphics wars, Nintendo wins Innovation, MS win.....the fanboys?

---

Plus I hear the NSA/FBA can still obtain Kinect camera information, even with the system off..... I don't want Kinect.

extra services are nice, but the priority for a gaming console must be the gaming experience, so i like the ps4 better. That being said, the current ps4's library is terrible, oh the irony xD

Clearly some do not like Sony's current exclusives but the PS4 has the better version of BF4, COD:Ghost and AC4.

Not a fan of those kind of games. In fact, i own bf4 just for the sake of benchmarking my ps4 ejejej

AC4 is an incredible game.  I like it more than TLoU.

I bought XBOne for its exclusives (DR3 and F5). Anything that's not exclusive is going to look better on my 3 year old PC with dual 5870s. A PS4 is at best equal to one 5870, and my desktop monitor is far better than a 1080p TV (30" 2560 @ 2 feet vs 46" 1080p @ 8 feet). So I don't give 2 shitz if the PS4 looks a bit better than XBOne. When PS4 has an exclusive I want to play - I'll buy one. Like TLOU for PS3 - but it takes 1-2 years longer for Sony to release killer exclusives vs MSFT.

The "other" features of the 360 always dominated the PS3, and the XBOne kills the 360. Xbox fitness is the perfect example. You get P90x and Insanity for FREE! I love all the movie and TV show apps and the integrated search functions - no need foe cable anymore except for live sports. But the camera on the Kinect is a bit shakey. I cant select anything with it!

Did you make an account just to post on this thread?

Good for you i guess... Dont get me wrong, i dont hate those games, i just dont mind them. Im the kind of guy who prefer alternative kind of games like Journey, spec ops the line, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. and thats my reason to own a ps4.

PS: since when TLOU became the measure of quality for gaming?

I love all 3 of those games, but not as much as AC4.  Since majority of people are naming it their GOTY for 2013, comparing another game from 2013 to it makes sense.

Good job Sevengen, you really know how to create a shitstorm -_-

XB1 is filled with gimmicks that have nothing to do with gaming and can be done on your phone and or your tablet/laptop

And yet, the fact that we already have devices you just mentioned that basically do the exact same thing our PC's can do just proves that people want these types of devices.

I mean, did you look at the first smartphone and think "oh no one cares its just a pc in ur pocket!" or the tablet and think "oh boy its just like my pc only smaller". Because the mainstream sure loves these products. You know what is better than playing games while I flip back and forth between football and get live updates on my phone for my fantasy team while tracking the entire league on my tablet? Doing all of that at once on one device. Thanks Microsoft!
