I played the intro and I was floored. Game of the year.
I got a little further and the effect kinda wore off. I'll save my opinion for when I beat it (can't seem to have a day off from work and when I do, I'm sooooo busy).

Ooooo i can't wait for you to finish it i think you will be even more floored! Be sure to let me know what you think when you finish it alright? it was the same for me as well i was amazed with the intro but later that feeling wore off. But then... i don't wanna spoil anything.

What part in the game are you on right now?

Sorry man TLOU is the game of the year in every true gamers heart.

I never had trouble with the controls or finding my way. It was too much fun exploring to worry about where to go next. This game had me much more immersed then any other shooter, a big step up from Uncharted 2, and made Bioshock infinite look like an amusement park ride (a good one, but it never felt like a real place)
The clicker added a very good sense of danger to the game. I had to play a couple sections over numerous times, didn't mater, I loved the challenge. In contrast, I switched Bioshock infinite to easy because the defend mission at the end was too boring to risk failing again.

It's not perfect (friendly AI stomping around and betraying my position by opening fire after throwing a molotov from a hiding spot), but if I wasn't a huge Ghibli fan it would have been my goty.

This is one of those that games that requires someone to play on the hardest difficulty. Only then will you feel like you're part of a zombie apocalypse. Playing the game through on Survivor mode was incredible and easily made it my GOTY.

Ditto. The only problem I had with survivor was never using any resources because everything felt scarce. I stockpiled and ended up having full ammunition and full items most of the game.

If I am not mistaking the only thing that changes as you up the difficulty is the availability of materials, ammo, resources etc. The stealth and enemies are the same no matter what difficulty. Also, they intentionally make the game really hard in the beginning, especially the first few clicker battles, to give the player a sense of scale of what you find yourself getting into. IMO, the game progressively gets easier the farther you get...This was my GOTY until I played AC4. AC4 on PS4 is simply a better game and the best game it its series.  Speaking of difficulty, have you played Max Payne 3 on the hardest difficulty?  I think I died more playing that than any other game.  Well maybe not DooM2 on Nightmare...I beat that as a kid and simply cannot do it now.  HAH

To be fair, I'm not that good at games really, especially shooty ones, but I finished it on Normal. There were some definite difficulty spikes and times where I died repeatedly, but the trick is to raid everything, everywhere for parts. Then make sure you're constantly building three things: health packs, nail bombs, shivs. Pretty much everything else is non-essential.

It's GOTY for some, non-GOTY for others.

lol what is a "true gamer"

imo this game is almost perfect in everyway, but i didnt really enjoy it like almost everybody did (kinda hate zombi-related themes). Its a 8/10 to me

I played it on hard first attempt. Only part I got really stuck on was the high school.
