The numbers of the PS3 do not make much sense to me compared to the numbers of the Xbox 360, this time of year the Xbox 360 is usually a bit stronger or at worst sell the same as the PS3, but this year the PS3 is winning by a wide margin, even after the announcements from Microsoft and Sony that the two consoles are strictly selling the same...

Not really there totals are the same, but there not currently selling the same, otherwise PS3 would never of caught up.

Wow, good PS3 sales! 118k more then X360. But X360 broke PS3's winning streak last week for the first time this year. Anyways, PS4 is a little low but is expected considering it's the week before Middle East launch and they are shipping consoles to that region. Next week should be better for NA as Walmart and Target, gamestop maybe too? are getting there biggest shipment yet of PS4.

Supply constraints all round and it shows as clear as day, ps4 will increase the margin in a few weeks due to the partial asia launch, then its down to stock levels again, with anothee jump for ps4 in feb for japanese launch.

In fact, both sold the same thing between the end of last year and the end of this year:

Fanatismo não leva a nada, apenas a colecionar antipatias.

Collection: Telejogo Ford-Philco, Dactar, TV Game 2600, Master System (2x), Master System Portable, NES, Dynavision 3, Mega Drive 3 (2x - Tectoy and Show Do Milhao Edition), Genesis 3, Genesis Arcade Motion, MD Play, SNES (2x), Super Famicom, Neo Geo CD, 3DO, Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64 (2x), Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Game Cube, Xbox, Zeebo, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 (Kinect Bundle), Wii (2x - White and Red), Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS Lite, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Around 800 games. Preferred Generation: 16 bits.

Really poor Wii U sales. At least 3DS is having a good holiday.

Vita ... stick a fork in it.

If those X1/PS4 numbers are accurate, IMO Sony is starting to screw up with the PS4. Gotta get inventory on the shelves, especially when you have that $100 price advantage.

Which strathegy is best is not yet obvious.

if this is purely fresh units, they both are at 1.2m units a month which is insane really. And we could conclude Sony had a quivalent of 2 full production weeks headstart on microsoft

There's a reason why Microsoft are not giving away their North American sales. It would make good PR.

If 3D World won't push the units then it seems it's up to MK and Smash Bros as the final chance. Only other possible system seller is a console Pokemon that isn't terrible.

And now sony is selling slightly more in the holidays because they actually released games for there console in the last 6 months. Once support drops sales will drop its not magic. MS decided to go all out for XOne games, Sony went a slightly differnt strategy to split the game content a bit longer, neither is wrong. Neither is destroying the other, the differnces in the grand scheme are pretty insignificant at the moment for both generations.

3DS beasting as usual, am expecting another 1m+ next week because Japan will see a very sizable increase (PDZ). Xbone and PS4 doing well, I'm not quite sure what to think of Wii U however, it should be selling more

PS4 still have the lead in USA... 1'35 million PS4 vs 1'17 million Xbox One. It's like Sony was controlling that..., selling enough to beat Xbox One in USA and then selling everything else in the rest....
