Not really there totals are the same, but there not currently selling the same, otherwise PS3 would never of caught up.

And now sony is selling slightly more in the holidays because they actually released games for there console in the last 6 months. Once support drops sales will drop its not magic. MS decided to go all out for XOne games, Sony went a slightly differnt strategy to split the game content a bit longer, neither is wrong. Neither is destroying the other, the differnces in the grand scheme are pretty insignificant at the moment for both generations.
