600k

In the 2012-2013 time frame those are terrible sales on a console that has sold 100 million. Luckily its old tech, so it just might have squirmed by because of the old kit and its cheaper to make.

The Conduit profited at 500k, at that was likely a more expensive production than TLS with its Hollywood voice actors and heavy investment in engine development. TLS sales aren't bad at all for a new IP JRPG in this day and age.

As I said, old kit. I think you're overselling a game that profitted on 500k sales. I will grant you that the game came out in 2008 towards the beginning of the gen which was the save grace of a lot of developers but it by no means broke the bank. It wasn't AAA. Theres not much Sega does these days that could even be considered in the realm of AAA that they publish.

Overselling it how? Never said it was any good. ;)

to the one who talked mentioned bayonetta 2's  preorders as being low, I just checked it. ps3 preorders for bayonetta ended with 32k for US, X360 had 35k. first week was 53k for ps3 and 90k for 360.

bayo 2 is siting at 22.5k right now, with 1.3k being added the last week. considering we have at least 20 weeks left (if the game releases around may) and that the bulk of pre orders increases as launch aproaches, it's pretty much a given that bayo 2 pre orders will easily top the first one.

But Bayonetta was a completely new ip, no? Don't new ips from non well establised (e.g. Bungie, Naughty dog, etc) studios sell bad on launch week? It would follow that the game's sales would be more front loaded, so pre-orders may not be a good indication of its success.

I heard that Wonderful 101 bombed so Platinum Games is not having a good start with Nintendo at all. Luckily Nintendo is taking the fall for it. They deserve it for putting their faith and money behind Platinum. Not to say that Platinum doesn't make great games but they are terribly niche. If they keep going the way they are they will need a publisher to take over their IP's completely.

Conduit profitted? source? cause i doubt it. ALl i heard is HVS made money on it. Which would make sense since Sega paid them to make the games in the first place. Now Sega probably saw no money, wish i kept the GI where they said they made no money on it.

You all are classeless people.

Especially you Pokoko Im disappointed in you.

How can you call those people fans? They didnt even buy the game and those who did picked it up at 20$

Those are no fans.

And platinum treats its fans well. Its real fans.

Does anyone actually care about it ?

About what? Bayonetta 2? Clearly some do,

I'm sincerely glad it isn't coming to BoneStation I'd make the same mistake buying 2 as I did with 1.

Bayonetta 2 is a largely irrelevant game. A third party game only matters if it can move consoles an I doubt bayonetta 2 will do the job. It's not gonna be as bad as wonderful 101 but still.

Bayonetta 2 is in no way irrelevant.

It's a third party game, maybe, but it is one that Nintendo funds and publishes, which means they reap ALL the profits from sales.

It will make itself back in both the sales and the platform awareness it generates, the magnitude of the latter being obvious.

Also "as bad as Wonderful 101" is kind of a moot statement. It too has made a profit from sales, and a helping drive awareness among core players.

ROFLMAO. Apparently someone hasn't being keeping up with development cost news. Wonderful 101 was 50% more expensive to make compared to bayonetta 1 which didn't even net in profit with roughly around 2 million coppies.

Kamiya wasnt talking about development costs with that quote.

Doesn't take much to profit off of games for the Wii. It was old tech so devs took advantage of the old and cheap tech. Nintendo isnt a tech leader (LOL). They always guess wrong when they launch first. The Conduit had to have profitted though for Sega to feel good enough to publish Conduit 2 for the Wii U. Think about it.

How does Platinum treat their real fans better than the "fake" ones? Do they get yummy DLC? HMMMM?

Because the real fans still get the game.
