It is obvious you don't know what the word profit means

It means net gain of money. When your development is paid for, any money you get from sales is a net gain.

But you don't know if they get any money from sales at all. If Nintendo paid for development they will make sure to recoup their own investment first before paying out any money for a game that may not be profitable.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

You trying to claim Platinum won't get a share of the money the game earns? Seriously doubt that.

I don't really see what all the fuss is about. I bought a Wii U partially because of Bayonetta 2 being exclusive. Nintendo clearly thinks that in Japan it is going be a big boost to console sales, so they payed to have it made. Apparently it was a good move because alot of people are upset. Atleast some of those people are going to buy a Wii U to play Bayonetta 2 and then will probebly get 3D World and other stuff because they already own the console. I bought a 360 originally to play Guitar Hero, yet I have not played it in atleast 2 years.

Bayonetta 2 is gonna sell pretty bad cause it only target for mature audience + nobody in their right mind gonna play a sequel when they don't know what the story is all about. I prefer Bayonetta 2 never get made. Nintendo is taking a serious risk just by funding Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U

I know. I hate sifting through all the crap that comes with using the internet for game news. It's getting to the point where I'm ready to just get a few magazine subscriptions and stop using gaming news sites all together.

WiiU: 30-35m

its a 50m game or so an it will make some money, so 30m lost worst case. no big deal for nintendo. mb 100k more wii us sold cuz of bayonetta and that was a big big plus for nintendo. why u shouldnt buy other games if u have the system? metroid and X need more adult audience...

I am sure Nintendo will pay them a share once the game actually earns money, but there will be development costs to cover before that happens.

Or are you seriously thinking Nintendo pays for development and pays even more after that regardless of how the game is selling?

That is something i seriously doubt.

They are funding it with the hopes of it moving consoles in Japan.  I think it will sell around 1 million in the US during its lifetime but there is alot of potential to move consoles in Japan with games like this and X.  Xbox has zero influence on Japan so making a strong push there would be wise.
