The fans should be lucky they're even getting it.

True but because of Nintendo they are going to be forced to buy a Wii U just to play it which I doubt many will.

Because of Nintendo they're getting the chance to play a sequel at all.

Bayonetta is a great game, but its not big enough to warrent chart busting sales for a console. Nintendo is taking a huge risk with a game that was never built on the foundation at Nintendo. It started with sales between Sony and Microsoft audiences. Whatever Nintendo fans pick up third party will be beyond niche.

Bayo 2 was never meant to sell gangbusters. Nintendo knew when they bought it that the franchise is not a rainmaker. They bought it to add a "hardcorez" game to their exclusive lineup, for the sake of diversity.

Exactly...you just explained why its such a risk. Nintendo chose a game with the inability to sell majorly amongst hardcore gamers to be a killer app for the Wii U. Both them and Platinum Games are in for a rude awakening. I will be one of the few non-Nintendo core who will just so happen to have a Wii U around the time it comes out (or possibly a little later).

They're not in for any sort of rude awakening, low sales were most likely anticipated since the first game couldn't even become a big hot the the PS3 and 360. The game was chosen more for its token value than for any expectation of it setting the charts alight.

If Nintendo put their money down on it Nintendo was obviously oblivious. They thought they could regrow a core base on Nintendo. Too little too late for Nintendo. They need to rebuild the types of gamer that make up their once amazingly diverse fanbase before they take such risk. You're right that if this game has any value on a Nintendo console its token value. Again, as I said it doesn't affect me because I'll have  a Wii U around the time it launches anyway after I pick up the Xbone. It's all three consoles for me this gen. Nintendo tends to make better games in my eyes when they struggle.

Again, the game itself was not expected to be a gamechanger on its own. It was intended to complement the existing lineup of exclusives like 3D World, X, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, etc.

Platinum Games had better become a satellite for Nintendo because the way they're treating their (former?) fanbase is unprofessional. I'm kind of glad I didn't like Bayonetta.

Yeah, it's so unprofessional to provide your fanbase with a sequel to the game they loved instead of letting it disappear forever.

I think he's refererring to the some of Kamiya's more recent tweets.

Not that I agree with the people who keep insisting on ports of games (like Bayonetta 2) but this, doesn't really sound professional at all. There are better ways to go about that than telling their fans/supporters to go fuck themselves. The guy should really quit Twitter or just ignore them.

And to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few trolls out Twitter who go about asking these questions just to get a reaction from him.

I don't see how he's any worse of a public figure than, say, the God of War creator.

Well, he represents his company. As such he should speak in a professional manner when addressing people. If not out of respect for the supporters who went out and bought their games and supported Platinum Games. It doesn't exactly put PG in good light to say, "hey guys we don't care about those who bought our old stuff. If don't like it it piss off. Kthxbye."

Also David Jaffe can say all the shit he wants. He left Santa Monica and Sony long ago and has his own little company - Eat Sleep Play.

BS. You wouldnt sit there every day and let idiots ask you the same thing over and over again and not say something? Of course not. What you are doing is childish. You are using this as a reason to justify your hate. Also making excuses for geoffrey in the process shows it is just an excuse.

Some how Geoffrey who only makes games for PS is free to say what he wants but another company not tied to Nintendo should watch what they say. I mean come on dude. Thats elementary schoolyard BS.

Development costs on 1 console, are not the same as development costs on 2 consoles. Something you haters are not able to grasp.

Also I have never read that the first game never made any money at all. Can you link some proof that it never turned a profit at all.

Hater ?! I ain't no patcher LOL. It appears that I have hurt some feelings around here. Bwahahaha.

@Bold Somebody here can't grasp the concepts LMAO. Porting is cheaper than to outright develop the game itself.

If the first game did make make money then why is it being developed for a dying platform such as the WII U ?! Sega must not think highly of those 2 million sales (Or should I say bargin bin.) for the first game to outright sell the worthless franchise to nintendo. You don't need no link to show that sega was desparate to sell the rights LMAO.

LOL, Wii U isn't dying, it's just getting started.

No sense in giving up when the biggest games are still to come and the system's still too expensive to be in the range of casual and lower income buyers.

The way Nintendo sees it all third party titles are a compliment to what they make. It makes no difference really. If fans respond to it then we have a game changer. This is about profitability for Platinum Games. Doesn't matter if it isn't for Nintendo.
